Against Washington, the Hornets led by as many as 10 early in the third quarter, then trailed by as many as 12, but made things interesting at the end. The Hornets pulled within two points after Marco Belinelli stole the ball from Wall, leading to Cody Zeller's layup with 10.6 seconds remaining. Wall made one of two free throws a second later for a three-point lead, before Nicolas Batum and Kemba Walker both missed 3s that would have tied it. After Batum's miss, Walker got the rebound and moved out beyond the arc to launch his shot, which came oh-so-close to going in at the buzzer. 3 WIZARDS AT HORNETS GAME NOTES

The game was physical throughout and got heated after the final buzzer as the talk continued and nearly escalated into something more. Boston's Jae Crowder pointed a finger toward Washington's John Wall as the two squared off near the Wizards bench. There were five technicals in all, two of them on Boston for three-second violations and the others for getting a little too physical. Al Horford added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Celtics. Crowder scored 20 and Terry Rozier had 11. Otto Porter Jr. scored 20 points for Washington, and Markieff Morris finished with 14. Boston held John to a season-low nine points. Each fan that donated received an autographed Kelly Oubre Jr. holiday poster. More than 800 toys were collected at the game and more than 200 dollars was raised in monetary donations. All toys donated benefited underserved children in the DMV area. The #DCFamily community made an impact this holiday season. 7 WIZARDS AT HORNETS GAME NOTES
