WINCH ANCHORING SYSTEMS Each Portable Winch winch is equipped with two industrial-quality safety hooks. All our anchoring accessories are compatible with these hooks. Most of the systems are interchangeable and pivot to align with the pulling axis. The first step is to determine which object the winch will be anchored to: A CYLINDRICAL OBJECT The easiest thing to do is to use the 2 m sling supplied with the winch. Attach the sling to one of the winch s hooks, pass the sling around your anchoring point and insert it into the second hook. There are 3 m slings available for larger trees or posts. Other anchoring systems offer more stability and a more comfortable working position. STEP 4 QUAD SKIDDING KIT Install the automatic release on the rope at the desired position for it to trigger. STEP 7 QUAD SKIDDING KIT Once the log is along the trail, you can reverse the vehicle close to it, tidy the rope in the bag and attach the choker chain directly to the pulling plate using the slot provided for this purpose. You can then continue your journey. Therefore, you will be able to take your log to the drop zone effectively and safely. NOTE The bowline knot is used to attach hardware to rope end. It allows you to maintain approx. 70% of the rope s capacity. Other knots can reduce its capacity by 50% or more! It is also very easy to untie if you want to change the hook. BOWLINE KNOT SINGLE Here is how to tie a bowline knot: The hook must be inserted in the loop beforehand.
