Youth Ottawa (formerly Child and Youth friendly Ottawa) is a charity that envisions an Ottawa where youth drive positive change. Our vision is based on our belief in youth. We support Ottawa youth by encouraging them to seize opportunities, harness their ideas and spark change. Held annually in the spring, in 2017 Youth Ottawa celebrated hosting its 20th year of hosting the event. The event brings together organizations from across our community to recognize and celebrate local and global contributions of Ottawa youth. The Ottawa Youth Engagement Committee works to increase youth engagement in decision making within the City of Ottawa and strives to engage the non-engaged and underrepresented communities, in action and through representation. DILA Facilitators run an eight-visit program in Ottawa area High Schools that engages students directly in addressing community issues. In 2016/207 DILA will work with almost 4,000 Youth in Ottawa. DILA commits to bringing in community organizations and leaders actively working towards improving the issues important to youth/ students. JIVA is Youth Ottawa s newest program.
