Jacques Morelli, Manager of Michelin Motorsport s programme The RallyRACC Catalunya is the world championship s only mixed gravel/asphalt round, so it s a particularly hard event for the cars, the teams and the drivers who have a choice of five different tyres for the weekend. That s more than for the Rallye Monte-Carlo! Terra Alta [.9km] on Day 1 is one of the most demanding gravel stages of the season for tyres because it includes a twisty sevenkilometre asphalt section in the middle. Sunday s action [six stages totalling 7km] concludes six hours after the crews choose their tyres for the day at the morning s service halt. If the weather is changeable, that could play a big role in the final result. The fight for this year s titles is still extremely close.
