Dear Friends, We are excited to invite you to our 26th Annual Golf Classic on May 29, 2018 benefitting the Gene Slay s Girls & Boys Club of St. Louis! The Golf Classic is essential to the Club in its efforts to reach any and all youth in need of our services. This year s tournament will celebrate the Club s legacy of empowering youth in South St. Louis. This past year, the boys and girls at the Club achieved the following outcomes: 95% of our youth advanced to the next grade 94% of parents reported that our programming had a positive effect on their child s grades 97% of our members did not drink, smoke, or do drugs 100% of our Jr. Staff Members have graduated high school in the last five years And these are just a few of the outcomes our kids achieve on a daily basis! Personally, the Golf Classic is always a time for me and my family to reflect on the legacy and work of our father, Gene Slay. Given his lifelong commitment to serving the youth of St. Louis, I know that he would be thrilled with our work to address the needs of youth in underserved neighborhoods in South St. Louis who otherwise would not get this type of care. I would also like to thank Andy Blassie, the Club s President, and Jill Slay Garlich, our Executive Vice President, for their tireless leadership of the Golf Classic and throughout the year. With a history of beautiful weather, loyal friends and supporters, and an important cause, the 26th Golf Classic promises to be a fantastic event again this year.
