Who We Are WAKSA (Western Australia Kite Surfing Association) is the official peak body for the sport of kite boarding in Western Australia, working alongside Kiteboarding Australia (KA) and the Department of Sport to promote safe kiting, provide members with public liability insurance and to bring incredible kite surfing events to the state of WA. As a not for profit organisation, we aim to not only host competitions for participants in the sport of kite boarding but to also host events which give back to the community, educate individuals, clubs and associations on safety topics relating to the sport, beach & the ocean whilst helping raise money for several charities such as Redkite. The Event Date: Thursday 25 th January Sunday 28 th January 2018 Location: Rockingham Overview WAKSA, in association with Kiteboarding Australia, is excited to bring to Western Australia a unique national sporting event. The event will bring the kite boarding community and public together from across all states of Australia for one long weekend of kiting, competitions, music, family friendly activities, educational activities, fundraising and showcasing the ever growing sport of kite boarding and water sports. Location The world class location of The Pond, Safety Bay, is an active area for pedestrians and vehicles, with the added bonus of main road traffic coverage to increase brand awareness for sponsors - See Event Site Plan below On Water On Land National Freestyle Competition bringing the best talent of kite boarders from around Australia to perform their best tricks and flips whilst competing for the top spot - the Australian National Title! Big Air Competition to see who can fly the highest. Event Village for spectators and public to view the competition and enjoy food, beverages and activities on offer. Opening and closing ceremony.
