RULES & REGULATIONS The following rules and regulations will be enforced throughout the duration of the show and apply to all competitors and riders on the property: 3 1. Entries received or postmarked before March 30, 2018 will be charged at $20/class. The Jumper Jackpot classes #400 and #401, leadline, and warm-ups are exceptions. 2. Entries received or postmarked after March 30,2018, including those made on the days of the show will be charged $25/class. Day of show adds for these entries will honor $25/class fee. The Jumper Jackpot classes #400 and #401, leadline, and warm-ups are exceptions. 3. Adds & Scratches: Adds and scratches may be made onsite at the show as long as they are completed prior to the start of the related class. Adds will be charged at the regular rate of $25/class. Adds and scratches may be made at the back gate of the ring running the class. Classes scratched at the horse show office prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund, scratches made at the back gate will be charged $5/class if not completed prior to the start of the class. Classes that are not scratched will be charged at full price. It is the responsibility of the rider and trainer to ensure the classes entered are correct. 4. Payment: All payments should be paid by check made payable to Paso Robles Horse Park Foundation. Any checks returned by the bank will be charged a $35 penalty, or 10% of the face value, whichever is greater. 5. Management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or cancel entries, awards, or prizes, and/or adjust the time schedule, combine, scratch, or move classes as necessary without claims or damage. A two-minute gate call will be requested and enforced. All judge s decisions are final. 6. All professional and non-professionals riding on the Park property must wear securely fastened protective headgear which meets ASTM/SEI standards and carries the SEI tag. Any rider violating this rule at any time will immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. 7. Stall Use: A flat fee of $50/stall will be charged for each stall, tack room, and/or grooming stall reserved. This fee grants access to a reserved stall beginning at Friday, April 6, at Noon, through Sunday, April 8, at the conclusion of the show. Stalls are 12 x12 and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Stalls reserved will come with two (2) bags of shavings. 8. Feed & Shavings: The Paso Robles Horse Park Feed Office will be open during these dates, and will be offering hay and shavings. Alfalfa, orchard, bermuda, timothy hay, and bagged shavings will be offered. For advance orders please email feed@pasorobleshorsepark.com. Orders can be made at the show in the office. 9. Trailer-In Fees: A trailer-in fee of $25/horse per day will be charged for those not getting stalls. If you pay the day fee and your horse is found in a stall, you will be charged for a stall fee in addition to your day fee. All horses entering the Park must pay the trailer-in-fee, unless a stall is purchased. Trailer-in vehicles will be given a pass that must be displayed for the duration of the show. 10. RV Parking & Hookups: 28 RV parking spots with water and power hookups are available for rental. A flat fee of $50 will be charged. This will grant access to the spot beginning at noon on Friday, April 6, through Sunday, April 7, at the conclusion of the show. All RV reservations will be filled on a first come, first served basis. 11. Refunds: Entry fees will be refunded in full, less a $25 office charge with a veterinary certificate or medical doctor s note prior to the start of the show. Stalls are non-refundable. 12. Schooling: No juniors or amateurs are allowed to school over fences without their trainer in the area. 13. Lunging: Lunging in the designated lunging areas will be permitted on Friday, April 6, between Noon and 6 p.m., and again on Saturday and Sunday, April 7-8.
RULES & REGULATIONS, CONTINUED 14. Warm-Ups: $5 warm-up rounds will be available on Friday from Noon until 6 p.m. Rounds are 5 minutes long. Additionally, a $5 warm-up class will be run at the start of Saturday and Sunday in each ring. These classes will utilize set courses. Please note, warm-up closing times will be posted at back gates and strictly enforced. 15. Hunter Attire: All riders must be in appropriate attire, which consists of a hunt coat, a shirt with collar, breeches, and tall boots or boots and half chaps. 16. Jumper Attire: All riders must be in appropriate attire, which consists of a hunt coat or a shirt with collar, breeches, and tall boots or boots and half chaps. 17. Hunter Equipment: Horses shown in hunter classes must have the proper equipment. Equipment requirements include: if a martingale is used, only a standing martingale is permitted, no figure-eight or dropped nosed bands, and no horse boots. No martingales are allowed in flat classes. 18. Awards: Ribbons will be awarded in all classes 1 st 6 th. 19. All dogs must be on a leash. Owners are subject to a $50 fine for any dog not on a leash. 20. No draw lines allowed in the show ring or to school over fences. 21. No trainers allowed on foot in the show ring. 22. Professionals may only ride in open division classes. Any professionals riding in classes designated for Jr/Am will be disqualified for the remainder of the day. 23. Points are tracked for each calendar year of the Paso Robles Horse Park schooling shows. At the start of the following year, an awards ceremony will recognize high point competitors at various heights. THE PARK DEFINITIONS Walk/Trot Flat: To be eligible, rider must not have competed in a walk/trot/canter flat class. Hunter Hack: Horses will first be worked and judged on the flat. Following the completion of the flat phase, riders will be directed by the judge to jump two fences set in a line. Hunters or Equitation Over Poles: Fences will consist of jump poles laid flat on the ground. To be eligible, rider and horse must not be competing in classes greater than 2 7, or.80m in height. Cross-rail Hunters or Equitation: Fences are not to exceed 18. This division has no entry restrictions. No combinations or oxers. Green Rider Hunters or Equitation: Fences are not to exceed 2. Horse rider combinations are not to have shown at heights above 3 in past competitions. No combinations or oxers. Short/Long Stirrup Hunters or Equitation: Fences are not to exceed 2 3. Child/Adult Hunters or Equitation: Fences are not to exceed 2 6. Low Jr/Am Hunters or Equitation: Fences are not to exceed 2 9. Jr/Am Hunters or Equitation: Fences are not to exceed 3. Green Rider Medal: Fences are not to exceed 2 3. This class is open to all junior and amateur riders who have not competed at heights above 3. Pre-Child/Adult Jumpers: Fences are not to exceed.85m. Modified Child/Adult Jumpers: Fences are not to exceed.95m. Low Child/Adult Jumpers: Fences are not to exceed 1.0m. Child/Adult Jumpers: Fences are not to exceed 1.10m. Modified Jr/AO Jumpers: Fences are not to exceed 1.15m. Jr/AO Jumpers: Fences are not to exceed 1.20m. Low Jumper Jackpot: Entry fee of $30. Fences are not to exceed 1.10m. Riders may not cross enter between the low and high Jumper Jackpot Classes. Prize money of $250 will be awarded to 1st through 5th as follows: 30%, 25%, 20%, 15% 10%. I am fully aware and acknowledge that horse sports involve inherent dangerous risks of accident, loss, and serious bodily injury including broken bones, head injuries, trauma, pain, suffering, or death ( harm ). I Agree to release Paso Robles Horse Park Foundation (the Park) from any and all claims for money damages or otherwise for any harm to me or my horse and for any harm caused by me or my horse to others, even if the harm resulted, directly or indirectly, from the negligence of the Park. I Agree to expressly assume all risks of harm to me, or my horse, including harm resulting from the negligence of the Park. I Agree to indemnify the Park, its officers, and employees and agents and to hold it harmless with respect to claims for harm to me or my horse(s) and for claims made by others for any harm caused by me or my horse(s) during any competition or while at the Park. I Agree that the Park as used herein includes all of its officials, directors, employees, agents, personnel, volunteers, affiliated organizations, and vendors. I Agree that I shall not now, or at any time in the future, directly or indirectly, prosecute any action, suit, or other proceeding against the Park arising out of or relating to actions, causes of action, claims and demands hereby waived, released or discharged by me, which released claims include all which are known and unknown, foreseen and unforeseen, future or contingent. This release shall be binding upon me and my spouse, legal representatives, heirs, successors, and assigns. This ambiance comes from the personalities of everyone from staff to riders to trainers. In appreciation of all that you do to support this environment, and to add a new element of fun to the schooling shows, we have incorporated the Star Awards. The Park Team will be on the lookout for anything to support sportsmanship and fun at the Park. When they see it in action they will give you a gold star and add an entry for your barn in the drawing to win a gift basket. The winner will be drawn at noon on Sunday. Schooling Access All warm-ups will be open for $5 ticketed 5-minute warm-up rounds from Noon to 6 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, each ring will start with a $5 warm-up class featuring a designated course. Please note, posted closing times will be enforced for these warm-up classes.
