Page 5 Golf Shop Newsletter Rob and Sam Well HELLO March! I am not sure you know how happy we are to see you. The wet soggy days of February have been a huge nuisance. We are looking to you to be the month of warm sunshine and fulfilling us with wonderful golfing days. After all, March, you are the month that traditionally kicks off our golfing season. Yes, we are most happy you are here. To kick the month off we will host our first event of the season. The traditional Big Daddy Scramble is scheduled for Saturday March 17, 2018. The event will kick off with a 9:00 am shotgun start. The format for the Big Daddy Scramble is a four person scramble. The teams are assigned based on handicap in the A, B, C, D format. Scoring is two divisions, net and gross. The entry fee is $35.00 per player and includes your lunch following play. Please note that the MGA Annual Meeting will follow play during lunch. Players who attend the meeting will receive an additional two River Cup points. The annual meeting is following the Big Daddy due to the cancellation of the Polar Bear Open. You may sign up for the scramble in the golf shop. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for the Big Daddy Scramble on March 17. Next on our agenda to release is the PGA Junior League Sign Ups are coming very soon. We will be emailing the link out to the membership for registration within the next few days. We have registered our club and are awaiting the registration link to come online. PGA Jr. League is a gamechanging opportunity for boys and girls ages 8-13 to learn and play golf. The program brings family and friends together around fun, team golf experiences with expert coaching from PGA and LPGA Professionals. The season will begin as soon as the team is organized with practices held each week. Matches are scheduled to begin sometime around May 1 and will go through July 31. Parents please be sure to register your junior for our 2018 PGA Junior League Season. March also brings us all of the new merchandise for 2018. The shop will begin filling with new releases for the upcoming season. Many of the new drivers like the Callaway Rogue and the Cobra F8 with the CNC milled face will arrive by the end of the month. The apparel to arrive includes the favorites like Foot Joy and Peter Millar but new to the shop this year is Southern Tide. With all of the new merchandise arriving means great sales to the member. Our annual clearance sale with deep discounts available will begin very soon. Please stop by the shop to take advantage of this huge sale! Rob McGill
