These are easy to install and can be provided for all shapes of grates. Removable cross bars are also available for tree grates with multiple castings per set or to increase frame support. Expandable... Most cast iron tree grates provide the advantage of being easily expandable without losing their structural integrity. Over the years as the tree trunks become larger, the tree opening can be enlarged in increments to accommodate the growth. The best method is to remove the radial spokes at the junction of the expansion rings. Security Bolting... The best security a tree grate can have is inherent in its own size and weight. For additional security, most grates can be bolted with flathead screws, countersunk flush with the grate surface. Various tamper-resistant bolts are also available, if required.
