Volume 72, Issue 3 Newsletter Date March 2018 From the Senior Regent Greetings from your Senior Regent, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all who have Birthdays in March. Wow, we had a busy month in February. Thank you to Terry Owen and the Mooseheart /Moosehaven committee members for an awesome Valentines Dinner. Congratulations to the Valentines King and Queen, Danielle Hay and Carl Crayton. Congrats also to Claribel, the winner of our Activity & Sports Committee's Lottery & Gift-Card Basket Raffle. We had so much Fun at the Kids Bingo, we are planning on having another one real soon. So make sure you bring your little ones to our next session. We are always looking for volunteers to help out or if you like, you can donate prizes for the Kids. Please see me or any of the Women Board of Officers. TIA. I want to Say a big Congratulations to my Hubby, Carl Crayton for winning the "SPAM" Cook-off!! Love the Trophy. Remember, if you have a recipe you want to add to the WOTM Cook Book, please turn them in by March 12 th. All proceeds from the sale of this Cook Book will be going to our Lifetime member Roberta Davis. Upcoming Dinners by the WOTM. This Month our WOTM Volunteer of the Month is Ms. Mary Gruning. Please thank her for all she does. If you are interested in being on the Board of Officers for the women this fiscal year, May 1,2018 April 30, 2019, please see any member of the current Board of Officers to get an application. ~Remember our Mid-Year Conference in Orlando is April 19-22. Have you registered?? Please join us. I want to Thank the LOOM, for everything they have done for the WOTM. From helping me in the Kitchen or just answering my silly questions. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. WOTM meetings are on the 2nd & 4th Monday's of every month and open to ALL women in good standings. Page 4 Greetings from your Administrator Well it that time of year for elections of a new Board of Officers starting the May 1, 2018 Fiscal Year. Elections will be held on Tuesday April 3rd during our Business/Membership Meeting which starts at 7:00 PM. Officer positions that are open are: Governor, Jr. Governor, Treasurer, Prelate, 1 Year Trustee and 3Year Trustee. Anyone who desires to run for one of the above officer positions must complete a form stating which officer position you would like to run for and turn in that form to myself or Carl Crayton ideally by March 6th but by no later than March 13th. We have 2 big events going on at our Lodge during March. First of all the Moose Riders will be hosting their 2nd Annual Rib Cook Off on Saturday March 10th. Then on Saturday March 31st the Moose Riders will also be hosting our Kids Easter Party. Look for the flyer for both of these events to get more details. Hope to you all there. Page 7 Greeting From the Tallahassee Moose Riders We would like to thank everyone for the great turn out for the Moose Riders SPAM Cook-off. It was great to see all the support! 1st place winner Carl Crayton with SPAM Enchiladas 2nd place winner Jack Leggett with SPAM Mac and Cheese 3rd place winner Matt & Sara Martin with SPAM Chocolate Cupcakes We also had a same day lotto basket that had over 30 tickets in it with a value of $170.00 Congrats to the winner Herbie Trice. Thanks everyone for their generous donations for the basket. The moose riders were also proud to accept a plaque from the Road Runners thanking us for our continued support of their charities. We look forward to continued fundraising for their great causes. This month we will be hosting the Moose Riders 2nd Annual Rib Cook-Off on March 10th. The Entry fee is $10 and all lodges and their members are invited to enter. Please check out our flyer below and reach out to Jeremy or I if you have any questions or concerns. The Moose Riders will be cooking on March 30 this month you can look forward to Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy, honey glazed carrots and dinner rolls. The last event for the month will be on March 31 st the Easter Celebration from 2 to 4 if you are interested in assisting or donations please contact Sara Martin. Page 8 TALLAHASSEE 1075 MOOSE LEGION COMMITTEE Our next meeting will be on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Lodge at 6:30 PM. We start out with a covered dish meal. The meat is provided so just bring a covered dish or dessert. All Moose Legionnaire s and Lady Boosters are invited to attend and our attendance has been way down this past year. We really need for you to come out and join us. WE DO MISS YOU If you are not a Moose Legionnaire you can become a Moose Legionnaire if you sign up one member in 1 year or 3 in six months. Annual dues are $15.00. See any Moose Legionnaire for an application. Our next fund raiser will be $250 in lottery tickets. See Carl Crayton to purchase tickets. See you all at the meeting. ANNUAL KARAOKE CONTEST 2018 Members can qualify for a free trip to the 2018 International Moose Convention and a chance to win $5,000!! Our District 12 competition will be held at Tallahassee Lodge 1075, on Saturday afternoon March 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM. We will have three judges that will vote on one winner that day. That winner will compete at the Mid-year Conference on April 20 th & that winner will go to International in New Orleans. Read more about this on the Moose International website.

Page 9 ATTENTION WOTM MEMBERS March is Membership Retention Committee Month and we have some exciting things going on and hope you will join us. If you haven t been to a Women of the Moose Meeting or haven t been in a long time, come on out and give it a try. Activity Night is the second Monday of each month, so March 12, join us at 6:30 for our Meet and Greet time. We have fun, games and refreshments. Then at 7:15 our meeting starts and lasts approximately an hour. On March 12 th, we have the pleasure of having a guest speaker from Ability First. Come find out how their efforts benefit our community. I would like to thank everyone who made donations to the Spring Wheelbarrow. Tickets will go on sale March 2, and the drawing will be held on Friday, March 16, which is also Shrimp Night. Remember we still have WOTM Membership incentives going on through the end of April. For each WOTM member you sign up you receive a free Friday Night WOTM Dinner and your name goes in a drawing for a $25.00 Gift Card. Also, whoever signs the most members January 1, through April 30, 2018, will received a $50.00 Gift Card from Publix. Moose International extended the First Responder Promotion through April 30 th, so First Responders -Police, Sheriff Deputies, Fire Fighters, EMS, all First Responders who sign up receive first year dues free and the enrollment fee has also been waived. DO your First Responder Friends a favor and introduce them to the Moose Organization. Linda White, Membership Committee Chairman WOTM Spring Wheelbarrow Raffle In March the WOTM Membership Committee will sponsor a Spring Wheelbarrow Raffle. This will include a two wheel wheelbarrow and a $50.00 Home Depot gift card. We would appreciate your donations of spring and gardening items to be included in the wheelbarrow. A box will be placed in the Social Quarters following the Valentine Dance for your donations. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 2, and the drawing will be held Friday, March 16, 2018. Page 10 IMPORTANT NOTICE LOOM (men) 2018 Schedule for Elections Anyone interested in or who has decided to run for an LOOM Officer Position for the new Fiscal Year Term (May 1, 2018 April 30, 2019) needs to read the time schedule below which must be adhered to per Moose International By-Laws. Additionally, any member who desires to run for an Officer Position must complete a form stating your desire to run and the Officer Position you are running for. These forms may be picked up from the Administrator, Richard Williamson, or the Jr. Governor, Carl Crayton. After completing and signing the form, the form must be turned in to the Administrator, Richard Williamson, or the Jr. Governor, Carl Crayton no later than March 13, 2018. Each candidate who submits his name for Office, must be interviewed by the Nominating Committee. 2018 Schedule of Elections February 06 Announce the forming of Nominating Committee with their 1 st Meeting to be held on February 20 following the Business/Membership Meeting. February 20 Nominating Committee Meeting to follow the Business/Membership Meeting. March 06 - Nominating Committee Meeting to follow the Business/Membership Meeting. March 13 Last date to submit name to run for Office. If any additional names are submitted after the March 06 Nominating Committee Meeting and up to March 13, an additional Nominating Committee Meeting will be called to interview and consider whether or not to add candidate to Ballot. March 20 Report of the Nominating Committee will be given at the Business/Membership Meeting. April 03 Elections will be held at the Business/Membership Meeting.
