WELCOME The Bushey Sports Academy in conjunction with SoccerChanceUSA is a full time football and education programme. The programme will begin in September 2018 with a maximum 23 students aged 16-18 joining the scheme studying for a BTEC Level 2 and BTEC Level 3 in Sport accompanied by a bespoke football programme which will involve working with UEFA qualified coaches on a daily basis. The academy will compete in the Tactic league against other college schemes and, over the course of a season, students compete in 30+ matches. The programme based at the football club sees the education delivered on site and run alongside existing adult set-ups. This enables the best of each year s intake the opportunity to play in the first and reserve teams at a level much higher than is offered at similar schemes in the area, gaining qualifications which could provide a passport to employment in the sporting industry. The programme will continue to look to take on between 10-15 new recruits each season depending on both academic and football ability. The Bushey Sports Academy will look to create a pool of player talent for the club to draw upon and benefit from directly as well as offering young people a fantastic path into the sporting industry through the qualifications and real life work experience our club can offer through coaching our various youth sides and within primary schools. Warren Gladdy the director of the academy said of the scheme Youngsters with a love of football can develop their future on this programme. Our Football Training We are dedicated to provide the best coaching for the students involved in our football programme. With our links in the football world which are continually growing we are gaining access to some of the best coaching programmes and coaches. Unlike other programmes which may have general sports coaches, our coaches will have to be a UEFA qualified football coach. Our coaches will have specialised in house training and be mentored by exprofessionals who have progressed up the coaching ladder to the professional game. Where will you train? Training will take place at the clubs training ground and will either be on the grass pitch or the new 3G AstroTurf depending on the weather. How many days will you train? You will train for four days a week, usually Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Who will be the coach? Currently the three coaches who are working with our students are Warren Gladdy (FA Affiliate tutor with Herts FA and UEFA B qualified coach) Jesse Smith (Harrow Borough assistant manager) and Alex Cattini (Foundation Phase Coach at Tottenham Hotspur and UEFA B qualified coach) What will training involve? Throughout the programme you will work on technical ability, taking part in sessions designed to improve your technique. You will also take part in a fitness programme to increase your overall fitness. To prepare for the games programme you will work on team shape and tactics. What kit do I wear? You will be required to wear a personalised training kit, this will be available to purchase similar to other football and education programmes although we guarantee this is at a cheaper cost than any other programme.

Liam Sole was a previous scholar with us and signed for MK Dons in the summer of 2017 Games Our games programme is exciting and provides an experience on a regular basis, not provided by any other programme, in league and cup competitions. Can I continue to play with the club I am at? Of course you can, we actively encourage you to continue to play for your junior side at the weekend and hopefully our coaching improve your performances What competitions will I play in? The Tactic League (playing games against other semi-professional club academies such as Borehamwood and Wingate and Finchley FC), the Tactic league cup and the FA Colleges league. There is a chance for our highest achievers tom play in the FA Youth Cup for one of our affiliated sides and for our best players there is the chance to play in one of the senior sides at a semiprofessional level. Where will the games take place? All games are played on the home pitch which has one of the best surfaces in the county opposed to a college/park pitch. When do the games take place? The majority of games will take place on a Wednesday afternoon; however some games may take place in the evening under floodlights creating a new experience for many of the students. What kit is required? Your match kit is provided by the football club.

3 STEPS TO ACTIVATE YOUR AMBITION 1. Email busheysportsacademy@yahoo.com and enter your personal details stating you re interested in joining our scheme or call 07792470475 2. What happens when I ve applied? Once we have your personal details we can invite you to an event held at the club such as a trial or information evening. 3. What s the next step after the event? You will have decided by then if you wish to further engage with the programme and, if you do, we will keep in touch with you via email and mobile and continue to invite you down to the many different events that will be taking place at the club. Once the GCSE results in August are revealed subject to the grades you achieve you will then be asked to come down to an enrolment day with the club and college before confirming your place in the Academy.
