DID YOU KNOW? Air Force surpassed the 193-point mark in the final six meets of the regular season and at the conference championship meet. The seven-meet stretch is the longest such streak since 2014, when the Falcons broke the 193 plateau in 10 straight meets, and the second-longest run of head coach Doug Day s 11-year tenure. WITGEN NABS TOP-10 FINISH AT REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Scoring a 38.525 to finish 10th, Kara Witgen recorded the Falcons highest regional all-around placement since 2002 - and just the third top-10 finish ever. Witgen placed within the top-half of the 42-gymnast field in a pair of events at the Lincoln Regional on April 1, as she took 17th on the floor (9.775) and 21st on the beam (9.750). FALCONS QUALIFY 10 TO LINCOLN REGIONAL Ten Falcons were named to the regional roster, including Casey Bell (floor exercise), Darby German (uneven bars, floor exercise), Chelsea Grimison (balance beam), Riley Hill (vault, balance beam), Rita Koenigbauer (balance beam), Jamie Lewis (vault, uneven bars, floor exercise), Mariana Murphy (all-around), Brittney Reed (uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise), Anna Salamone (vault, uneven bars) and Kara Witgen (all-around). AIR FORCE TAKES FOURTH AT MPSF CHAMPIONSHIPS Backed by top-five event finishes from Kara Witgen and Mariana Murphy, Air Force posted its second-highest score of the season (194.075) to finish fourth at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships on March 18 the squad s highest team finish since the league expanded to six teams in 2014. Witgen matched her career-high of 9.875 - the second-highest score in Academy history - to tie for fifth on the balance beam, while Murphy equaled her personal-best score of 9.750 to tie for the same placement on the vault. FIVE FALCONS EARN ALL-MPSF ACCOLADES Based on their regional qualifying scores, Casey Bell, Riley Hill, Mariana Murphy, Anna Salamone and Kara Witgen claimed all-conference honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation on March 16. Witgen collected first-team honors on the balance beam and all-around, while earning second-team status on the vault to bring her total of all-mpsf honors to seven. Bell (floor), Hill (balance beam) and Murphy (all-around) earned first-team distinction, while Salamone earned second-team recognition on the uneven bars. AIR FORCE DROPS REGULAR-SEASON FINALE TO LEAGUE-LEADING UC DAVIS Despite a season-high team tally of 48.650 on the uneven bars, Air Force closed out the regular season with a 195.775-193.350 loss at UC Davis on March 10. Riley Hill (vault, 9.750), Anna Salamone (bars, 9.800) and Kara Witgen (floor, 9.775) accounted for the team s best finishes, as they placed third in their respective events. FALCONS EDGED BY SOUTHEAST MISSOURI Kara Witgen paced the Falcons to four of the top-six scores on the balance beam, but Air Force dropped a narrow 193.800-193.775 non-conference loss to Southeast Missouri on March 5. Witgen won the event with a score of 9.850, while Riley Hill took third with a mark of 9.775. Brittney Reed and Mariana Murphy rounded out the Falcons top-six finishers, as they placed fifth (9.700) and sixth (9.650), respectively.
