Suara Indonesia Dance originate from Sydney and Aceh of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Through dance, actions, songs, drums and rhythm, they introduce students to the wider diversity of Indonesian culture and language. The willing interaction of our students was BAGUS! Terima kasih. Working bee this Saturday Working Bee tasks include on our standard jobs of upkeep around the school yard as well as:: repairs to the vegie patch fence Repairs to the edging around the car park trees Emptying the container in preparation for the renovation. Lunch and snack will be provided for the hungry workers! Reporting of Student Absences Remember families can report student absences through the COMPASS portal. This is both convenient and efficient. This is done by adding an Approval. By recording the reason for the absence, we are also able to reduce our large number of unexplained absences. Absences can also be reported by calling the school on 52299730 and leaving a message (remember to also record the reason for the absence, no need for details of which class). Late arrivals, following appointments, can also be recorded through the COMPASS portal. Students must also be signed in at the office by an adult.
5 Things to know about the Night at the Races 1 This is a great chance to get to know families at Newtown Primary School so get a table of 10 together or let us place you on a table with some new friends! 2 There will be fun activities all night like a Fashions on the Field segment with prizes for best dressed and best themed table and there will be a super disco to close the evening. 3. During the night we will televise 4 horse races. You will have the chance to purchase a horse and then claim your first, second or third place prizes if your horse comes in. (sorry no betting!) 4. The live auction is back with our usual favourites of : - the park in the staff car park, - baked goodies for a term, - babysitting with Ms Hay, - advertising on the back of a bus - beautiful artwork by Ali Casboult 5. This is the major fundraising event for our school. Contributions large and small are welcome. Principal for a Day Aaron A Wow, today was amazing. I was never expecting something like this. I showed a family around our school, I met with the Parent Ambassadors where we talked about things that could be done at our school. I also spent 30 minutes in the prep room helping and observing. They are all amazing readers. They are good at clearing up after themselves. The Preps are magnificent listeners paying respect to their teachers Miss Smith and Miss Carr. NPS scool kids is news from our students for our community. The most fun part was having the race. It was the most fun because I always came third, in every race. Some other fun parts were when I got to jump over the hurdles because it was a big obstacle. We had to jump over the hurdle in the sand. I liked the bean bag push. I also liked doing the throw of the bean bags through the Auskick target. It was also exciting that I could see my Mum in the audience and she was cheering me on. She also was very happy when she saw me doing the running race and passing the batons. *Did you know that Abigail will be six in five days time?
