Winning PartnershiP W 2013 australian masters championships elcome to the 25th annual Australian Masters Indoor Cricket Championships at Bouncer Sports Centre, Joondalup Western Australia. The 25th playing of this event is a significant milestone which has seen the Australian Masters Championships grow from one grade (Over 35 Men) in 1989 to a tournament which boasts 5 grades, 27 teams and nearly 400 players and officials. The event will also double as selection trials for the upcoming World Indoor Cricket Federation World Masters Series. Australia will send 5 teams across the globe to South Africa to defend the titles they worked so hard to win in 2010 and we wish all selected players the best of luck. 2012 was a huge year in Indoor cricket with four Australian teams travelling to South Africa to compete in the inaugural WICF Junior World Series. We were successful in 3 of the four divisions and runner up in the other leaving the indoor cricket world in no doubt that Australia is the dominant force. 2013 promises to be even bigger, as along with defending our Masters titles in South Africa we will be sending our Men s and Women s Extreme teams to Sri Lanka for a quad series involving Sri Lanka, India and South Africa. Bringing our focus back to the 2013 Australian Masters Series we will all be waiting to see how Queensland will respond to their 2011 dominance being challenged in 2012. Will build on their successful 2012 campaign or will another state emerge to challenge for bragging rights. Importantly which players will put up their hands for the ultimate accolade of being named to represent Australia and don the green and gold. A huge thank you to our sponsors, Burley Sekem and the Australian Sports Commission for their ongoing support of Indoor cricket in this country. Thank you also to the Western Australian Cricket Association, Indoor Sports Western Australia, the Championships Organising Committee, staff of Bouncer Sports Centre and the many volunteers who have made this event possible. Finally to the players, coaches, official and support staff who bring this great game to life, we wish you all the best and trust you enjoy a week of hard fought, uncompromising indoor cricket played in great spirit.
