Sponsored by SILVERDALE WHALING DAYS 2017 SILVERDALE DANDY LIONS & KIWANIS CLUB GRAND PARADE ENTRY FORM Join the Silverdale Whaling Days Grand Parade on Saturday, July 29th 2017. Entering the parade is as easy as 1 2 3. Step 1: Read and complete this entry form. Step 2: Mail the signature page of this entry form to our P.O. Box no later than July 14, 2017 or send a PDF copy to our email. Our email address is lionsgrandparade@gmail.com. Entries postmarked/received after July 14th will be charged a $100.00 late fee and placed at the rear of the parade on a space available basis. Step 3: All entries must have one representative check-in the morning of the parade. Your staging number will be given out the morning of the parade when you check in. This number must be placed on the front of your entry. The parade starts promptly at 10:00 am, heading south along Silverdale Way, approximately one mile. At the end of parade all entries must comply with normal highway regulations, i.e. wear seatbelts, street legal tires etc.
The following rules apply to all parade participants. Failure to comply with any of these rules shall be cause for immediate ejection from the parade. Parade chair reserves the right to deny participation of any entry. A. Stop briefly to perform only at the four designated performance points. Do not create unnecessary delays and stay within 25 feet of the entry ahead of you. B. An adult clean-up crew must accompany animals before and during the parade. C. No speeding, reckless driving or open exhaust. D. No offensive music may be played in the staging area or on the parade route. E. No materials (candy, water. etc.) may be thrown from or by parade entries. We strongly discourage handouts, but items may be handed out by folks walking with you along the parade. F. Entries sponsored by and or displaying commercial signage are charged $40.00 fee per commercial entity with a limit of 4 vehicles per commercial entry. G. Entries of Political character will be charged a $50.00 fee per political candidate up to $200. H. Alcoholic beverages/ illegal drugs are forbidden in the staging area and on the parade route. I. To sell items along the parade route, you must buy and visibly display a street fair Vendor pass from Whaling Days. Contact WDparadevendor@gmail.com by July 11th. J. All motorized entries must have proof of vehicle insurance coverage. Normally groups do this with a Certificate of Insurance with Silverdale Whaling Days, Silverdale Dandy Lions, Silverdale Kiwanis, and Kitsap County and it s entities listed as additional insured. K. Kitsap Mall Blvd. is for staging only; vehicles not in the parade must leave the staging area. All fees must be paid by July 14th. 501(c) (3) and 501(c) (4) organizations are exempt from fees however IRS proof may be required. Checks should be made payable to the Silverdale Kiwanis and mailed to P.O. Box 3331, Silverdale, WA 98383. Refunds must be requested at least four days prior to the parade. If you would like to support the Lions and Kiwanis many community activities, you can include a donation with your entry form or you can attend a meeting to learn more. The Silverdale Kiwanis club meets at the Fleet Reserve Association Building, 11281 Old Frontier Road, at 6:30 PM on the 1st & 3rd Mondays. The Silverdale Dandy Lions meet at the All Star All Star Lanes & Casino, 10710 Silverdale Way NW, at 6:45 PM on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. Award results will be posted in the Central Kitsap Reporter, The Kitsap Sun, Silverdale Chamber of Commerce and in the lobby of our sponsor First Federal.
