What is it - doping? Doping is defined as the occurrence of one or more of the anti-doping rule violations 1. Presence of a Prohibited Substance or its Metabolites or Markers in an Athlete s Sample (Urine or Blood). 2. Use or Attempted Use by an Athlete of a Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method. 3. Evading, Refusing or Failing to Submit to Sample Collection. 4. Whereabouts Failures. 5. Tampering or Attempted Tampering with any part of Doping Control. 6. Possession of a Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method. 7. Trafficking or Attempted Trafficking in any Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method. 8. Administration or Attempted Administration. 9. Complicity. 10. Prohibited Association.
Sanctions on Individuals 1. Disqualification of Results in the Event during which an Anti-Doping Rule Violation Occurs. 2. Disqualification for Presence, Use or Attempted Use or Possession of a Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method. 2.1. The period of Disqualification shall be four years where: - The anti-doping rule violation does not involve a Specified Substance, unless the Athlete or other Person can establish that the anti-doping rule violation was not intentional. - The anti-doping rule violation involves a Specified Substance and the Anti-Doping Organization can establish that the antidoping rule violation was intentional. 2.2. If Article 2.1 does not apply, the period of Ineligibility shall be two years.
What would you do? You can feel yourself starting to get a head cold and it s the night before a big match. You go to the pharmacy and ask for medication that will help to get rid of the cold. Is any medication OK to take? What questions do you need to ask? Who do you ask?
Athlete s responsibility There are no excuses - each athlete is responsible for himself. It is each Athlete s personal duty to ensure that no Prohibited Substance enters his or her body. Athletes are responsible for any Prohibited Substance or its Metabolites or Markers found to be present in their Samples.

TUE - Therapeutic Use Exemption There are substances on the prohibited list which are clinically indicated to treat medical conditions. TUE allows an athlete to use a prohibited substance or method for medical reasons. Criteria for granting TUE: significant impairment to health without the substance or method no enhancement to performance no reasonable alternative
What would you do? Your coach has told you that you need to get stronger over the pre-season so you start hitting the gym more. A guy who works out at the gym says he s got a great supplement that will help you put on size quicker. He gives you some sample for yourself. Is this OK? What things do you need to consider?
Supplements - never without risk - Contents may vary from batch to batch. - May intentionally or unintentionally contain prohibited substances. You should not buy anything overseas or from supplier which is not safe. If still considering supplements discuss it with coach and your NADO.

Doping Control Sample Collection authority has an official documentation to prove its rights to collect the sample.
Doping Control procedure IN COMPETITION: 1. Invitation/Notification. You will be accompanied by DCO/chaperone at all times. 2. You should arrive at the DCS with no delay. Possible reasons of the delay: Participation in a presentation ceremony Fulfilment of media commitments Competing in further Competitions Performing a warm down Obtaining necessary medical treatment Locating a representative and/or interpreter Obtaining photo identification Any other reasonable circumstances, as determined by the DCO, taking into account any instructions of the Testing Authority
