SEPTEMBER 2009 NEWSLETTER AMA Charter # 2768 www.uterc.org www.uterc.com PRESIDENT S MESSAGE I thought this year s Warbird Expo event was a great success considering the slow start we had on Saturday because of the weather. But as luck would have it the rain stopped and the skies cleared. Pilots got their fill of flying and spectators were thrilled and amazed as we filled the sky with planes. Sunday was a picture perfect day with a good turnout of both pilots and spectators. Dave Fox dazzled the crowd on Sunday with his aerobatic display and 3D flying. A big thanks to all those pilots and club members who participated in this year s event or worked so hard to make it a success. It goes without saying that there are always those who go above and beyond to insure our success. Examples include the wives who stood over the grill all day to serve up some great food, especially Terry Joos. And what about the outstanding job done by Laura at the registration desk? Then there were our announcers, Matt and Scott, who kept the crowed informed and entertained. A big thanks is also in order for our local hobby shops, Some Dudes & West Valley hobbies, who donates prizes for this year s raffle. And what about the spread Steve laid out for the pilots dinner? For those of you who didn t stay for dinner all I can say is you really missed out. Aaron Loertscher will provide us an accounting of how we did financially at this month s club meeting. Thanks also to Jan Hyde and others for taking some great photos! -- Tom September 2009 Pg. 1 of 11
