Auberge Adventures Experience The Rich and Famous The Copper Palace is the Aspen residence of Ms. Barbi Benton and George Gradow, and one of the most unique homes in the area. Designed by the southwest architect Bart Prince, the residence is 25,000 square feet and is constructed of copper and glass in four wing shaped sections which step into the hillside of their 40 acre estate in Starwood. The site overlooks the Roaring Fork Valley with panoramic views of Aspen Mountain, Mount Daly at Snowmass and Mount Sopris to the west. As guests arrive they are greeted at the Grand Entry, and will be offered an elegant glass of fine champagne. Guests will be escorted down the marble stairway gallery to begin their tour of the home. Docents take small groups around the Copper Palace and show them all of the unique characteristics and artwork located throughout the residence. Alpine Skiing With The Legends Born in Puerto Rico, Jonny Moseley was the first skier from that state to make the US Ski Team. His family relocated to California when he was a child, and while in high school, he joined the Squaw Valley Freestyle Ski Team, won the Junior Nationals in freestyle, and shortly after graduating from high school in 1993, he made the US team. In 1998, Moseley participated and won the first two World Cup events of the year; this led to his participation in the 1998 Winter Olympics held in Nagano, Japan, where he won a gold medal. In 1999, Moseley challenged the International Skiing federation to change their policy and to allow their athletes to participate in professional events, such as ESPN'ʹs X Games where he earned a silver medal in the Big Air event. Moseley is still the only skier to have a medal in both the X Games (silver) and the Olympics (Gold). Tommy Moe is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from the United States. An Olympic gold and silver medalist, he specialized in the speed events of Downhill and Super G. Moe retired from international competition after the 1998 season and lives in Wilson, Wyoming, and serves as an Ambassador of skiing at nearby Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. He was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame in 2002 and is currently a co owner of Tordrillo Mountain Lodge in the Alaska Range. Learn from the best of the best!
