Blackout Week! Feb 17-22 Dancers are encouraged to come to class dressed exactly how they would for a Black-Out Feis (Hair Included!). Trinity s guidelines for the theme are listed below. To be clear, we do not want to burden our families by having you purchase any clothes for your dancer that you would not otherwise for the feis, or for everyday wear. Due to the increasing popularity of these competitions, it is recommended that the dancers maintain suitable apparel to compete in, but none of it should be expensive or outside the dancer s ordinary scope of clothing. While we are inviting ALL DANCERS Beginner II level and up to participate in our Black-Out Theme Week, regardless of whether they are planning to compete at the upcoming Feis, we understand that not everyone plans to participate in one of these themed competitions. If your dancer is not planning on competing at the Black-Out Feis, we ask that you do your best to adhere to our guidelines for this class but we realize that you may not be 100% in line (i.e. black shorts with white piping, black shirts with small logos or designs, etc.) Again, this is not mandatory, but is very helpful for planning purposes. Just do your best and have fun with it! BLACK-OUT GUIDELINES FOR GIRLS: BLACK SKIRT/SKORT OR SHORTS Skirt/skort or shorts should be matte black cotton or cotton blend. No shiny lycra or sequins, no tutus. (If you wear the Trinity Kilt skirt, you can pin the competitor number over the sequin buckles--it works fine) Skirt/skort or shorts should be short but modest (about mid-thigh) and skirts need to be worn with black spankies.for older girls (U13 & up), the popular Lululemon skirt does not work! Judges have indicated it is too short. Please find a different dance skirt to wear for feiseanna. BLACK SHIRT/BODYSUIT Short or long sleeves are fine, NO TANK TOPS. Plain, matte black cotton or cotton blend, no shiny lycra or other embellishments. Crewneck or turtleneck preferred, no v-neck or deep scoop-neck please. NO WIG Hair should be pulled back neatly in a ponytail, bun, or braid unless too short. Short hair should be neatly secured away from the face with a bow or clip. Plain black bows may be worn, no embellishments. POODLE SOCKS Socks should be glued below the calf, no knee socks! BLACK-OUT GUIDELINES FOR BOYS: BLACK PANTS OR SHORTS Pants or shorts should be plain, matte black. No shiny lycra and no stripes or designs. No baggy track pants. Shorts should be knee length and tidy. BLACK SHIRT Short or long sleeves are fine. NO TANK TOPS. Plain, matte black cotton or cotton blend, no shiny lycra or other embellishments. Crew neck preferred, no v-neck or turtlenecks please. SOCKS Black crew socks, no logos please. Can t wait to see ALL DANCERS Beginner II & above in their head-to-toe BLACK-OUT wear (yes, hair included) at class the week of Feb 17-22!! Thanks for your participation in this important theme week! 2 IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR PRIMARY INSTRUCTOR.
TPT Dress Rehearsal What is the purpose of the Dress Rehearsal? The TPT Dress Rehearsal allows dancers to get a full run through of a performance and practice transitions between dances with other levels. It also serves as an important practice for our Show Captains! The three TPT classes following the Dress Rehearsal are used to fine tune dances and work out any hiccups that might occur. What to Bring ALL dancers need to arrive with the wigs on, boys should arrive in their black pants and shirt. Pre-Beginner, Beginner, and Young Movers should arrive in costume; Intermediate, Advanced, and Ensemble dancers can slip on dresses when they arrive. The Dress Rehearsal is also a great forum to introduce new families to the St. Patrick s Day season: how to navigate the show app, how to master the wig, and how a show runs from when you arrive with your dancer to when you leave the show. We will also be having a short meeting for new families (Pre-Beginners & Beginners) with the performance staff while your dancers are practicing, so make sure you stick around! Important Note: If you do not have a costume yet, please bring both pairs of shoes, the appropriate socks, black shorts and a white top. Girls hair should be in a ponytail if they do not have a wig yet. The Dress Rehearsal will consist of three stages during the hour and a half your dancer is in attendance: Show Prep: Here, the dancers prep and practice for the show with the show captains. Costume Check: The instructors and show captains make sure everyone has the Trinity look down! Performance: The dancers will perform the show from start to finish. Parents will not be allowed to watch the performance, as this is a rehearsal and is meant to work through the show these numbers are not yet ready to be seen by an audience. Our end goal is to put on a great performance with the dancers having total confidence in the numbers they are putting on stage, which in turn will make for a FUN season!
