RIDER CHANGES: Race Horse Rider Replaced By Reason 4 MASTER ROBBIE J. Toeroek Notified 8 ANDAMOOKA GEM J. Bowditch J. Holder Doubly engaged explanation accepted RACE 1 : SARAH CONSTRUCTIONS HANDICAP - 1100 metres TIGARA S GEM (B. Claridge) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out hampering LITTLE LESS LIP (J. Kah), which was tightened onto EXCELL SHOES (D. Lane), resulting in LITTLE LESS LIP and EXCELL SHOES making contact for a short distance and becoming unbalanced. SPLASH OF MOET (S. Cahill) jumped away awkwardly. In the vicinity of the 400 metres SPLASH OF MOET (S. Cahill) attempted a tight run between LITTLE LESS LIP (J. Kah) and RYCHLE (B. Hoppo) at the same time as TIGARA S GEM (B. Claridge) shifted out slightly taking LITTLE LESS LIP wider, resulting in SPLASH OF MOET shifting out onto RYCHLE, which was forced to steady. S. Cahill was severely reprimanded and advised he had been given the benefit of a very serious doubt as to whether he was solely responsible for the interference. RYCHLE (B. Hoppo) laid in under pressure in the straight. LATVIAN AMBER, which laid in under pressure in the straight, was examined by the Club s EXTREME IMPACT was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon who reported the filly to be lame in the near foreleg. Mr. B. Papazaharoudakis, representing Mr. D.A. Hayes, the Trainer of EXTREME IMPACT, was advised a Veterinary Certificate of Fitness would be required prior to presenting for a future trial or race. RACE 2 : BELL AND BRUNT HANDICAP - 1600 metres The start of this race was delayed approximately six minutes owing to FORTZA, which lost its near hind plate en route to the barriers, requiring Farrier attention. FORTZA was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon and ruled fit to race. WARATOR (P. Gatt) shifted out on jumping away and contacted FORTZA (J. Winks). RACE 2 : BELL AND BRUNT HANDICAP - 1600 metres (Cont d) In the vicinity of the 1500 metres, after initially shying away from B. Claridge s whip, JEUNEALISTIC (A. Patterson) attempted to savage ST GABRIEL on two occasions. VALUE AS (J. Holder) raced wide without cover throughout the event. Inside the 200 metres FORTZA (J. Winks) shifted in onto VALUE AS (J. Holder), which was taken in onto ST GABRIEL (B. Claridge), which clipped the heels of VALUE AS and knuckled. J. Winks pleaded guilty to a charge under ARR.137(a) for Careless Riding in that he permitted his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on Saturday, 20 October and to conclude at midnight on Wednesday, 31 October 2012; a period of five (5) meetings. Approaching the finish WARATOR (P. Gatt) shifted in slightly under riding resulting in RING ME NOT (J. Toeroek) being taken in onto FORTZA (J. Winks). As a consequence J. Toeroek and J. Winks were unable to ride their mounts out in their normal manner. P. Gatt was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground in future. RING ME NOT, ST GABRIEL and VALUE AS were examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon who reported no visible abnormalities. RACE 3 : STUDIO 9 HANDICAP - 1529 metres ROCKABEE MISS (P. Toeroek, the rider of BREAK THE DRY, reported his mount felt fine during the race but he was concerned with its action on pulling up. BREAK THE DRY was examined by the Club s RACE 4 : SEELEY INTERNATIONAL HANDICAP - 2038 metres The start of this race was delayed approximately one minute owing to TORNADO JACK being presented at the barriers with buckled reins, which had to be replaced. Mr. T. Corstens, the Trainer of TORNADO JACK, was advised in future he is not to present a horse with buckled reins in South Australia. FAINEANT (J. Winks) and MASTER ROBBIE (J. Toeroek) were slow to jump. TSARINA WONDER (C. Lindop) shifted out on jumping away and contacted BRILLIANT PARK (J. Bowditch). TORNADO JACK (T. RACE 4 : SEELEY INTERNATIONAL HANDICAP - 2038 metres (Cont d) In the vicinity of the 1000 metres TORNADO JACK (T. Sadler), which was racing fiercely, improved onto the heels of HOLYWOOD AND VINE (A. Hopwood) laid in from the 600 metres and inside the 200 metres had to be steadied when tightened between IF I COULD (NZ) (J. Bowditch), which shifted out slightly, and VIKING STAR (C. Lindop), which shifted in slightly. MEADOWS MIST was examined by the Club s J. Kah, the rider of BORISTAR, explained that from the vicinity of the 700 metres she had become awkwardly placed behind MEADOWS MIST (L. Hopwood) when VIKING STAR (C. Lindop) improved to her outside and had no option to obtain clear ground until the vicinity of the 200 metres when a run momentarily presented between VIKING STAR and MEADOWS MIST, however, BORISTAR failed to sprint in its normal manner and, in her opinion, finished the race off only fairly. BORISTAR was examined by the Club s Veterinary Surgeon who reported symptoms of tying up. RACE 6 : BRIDGESTONE AUSTRALIA HANDICAP - 1000 metres Mr. D. Jolly, the Trainer of SPARKLING BELLA, advised Stewards he would instruct Jockey P. Approaching the 200 metres SNIP N RUN (J. Holder) shifted to the outside of LA PRALINE (P. Gatt) in an attempt to improve and in doing so inconvenienced MY UNCLE VINNY (J. Maund). RACE 8 : PRS CONVEYANCING HANDICAP - 1200 metres On arrival at the barriers QUEUE FOR QUALITY required to be resaddled. KNOX (H. McKechnie) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, making heavy contact with JUST DISCREET (A. Patterson), which was hampered. In the vicinity of the 800 metres ESSAY RAIDER (C. Lindop) shifted into the running line of KOE (NZ) (J. Bowditch), resulting in KOE (NZ) having to steady for a number of strides prior to shifting out, inconveniencing KNOX (H. McKechnie) and LADY LIGHTFOOT (T. Sadler), which were taken wider on the track. C. Lindop was reprimanded and advised in future to ensure she was sufficiently clear prior to shifting ground. QUEUE FOR QUALITY (J. Matthews) made the home turn awkwardly, inconveniencing ANDAMOOKA GEM (J. Holder), which was taken wider on the track. ESSAY RAIDER lost its near hind plate during the event.
