ACTIVITY 1 Hop What You Need: 4 Hula hoops, 4 red hearts, one big heart, clear packing tape, and scissors. Before the activity: Cut the hearts out of red cardstock paper. Tape the heart cutouts to the floor. Place a hula hoop around each heart cutout. Place the big red heart at the end and tape it to the floor. During the activity: Direct the children to line up in front of the hula hoops and have them jump on a heart as you say each word of the key question and then jump to the big heart as you say the Bottom Line together. Stand in front of the hearts. As I say each word, you jump to the next heart, ready? Who (jump) do (jump) you (jump) need (jump)? I need. (Jump to the big heart.) Who do you need? I need. Great jumping! Let s do it again! In our Bible lesson, we learned that wants us to help each other, just like the four men in our lesson did. They carried their friend to see so He could make the friend walk again and He did! They knew their friend needed. But guess what! He s not the only one who needs. We need, too! Who do you need? (Pause.) I need!

ACTIVITY 2 Four Friends Play-Doh What You Need: Play-Doh, rolling pins and people shaped cookie cutters Show the children how to roll the Play-Doh out flat and then allow them to choose one cookie cutter from the basket. While playing, talk about who are their friends and how can they help them. During the activity: Let s go around the table and you can all show me the friends you made today. Can you tell me the name of your friend and how you can help them? Wow, those are some great ideas. At the end of the activity: (Make four friends out of Play-Doh) How many friends do I have? (Pause.) Let s count them together. One, two, three, four! Four friends. Let s count again to be sure One, two, three, four! Yep! Four friends! Our Bible lesson today was about four friends. They carried one of their other friends all the way to see so could help him. This friend really needed! Do you remember what happened?

ACTIVITY 3 Say and Jump What You Need: No supplies needed Before the activity: Have the children stand in a circle and hold hands. Practice saying the verse together. During the activity: Explain that everyone will say the verse four times together and then jump four times. Repeat this several times. At the end of the activity: Challenge the children to keep doing the activity, and try to get faster each time. Before the activity: Let s all stand in a circle and hold hands. Do you remember our memory verse from last week? (Pause.) Great! Let s practice it one time together. You are everything I need, Psalm 119:57. Awesome! During the activity: Now, while we are holding hands, let s say our verse FOUR times, and then we are going to jump FOUR times! Are you ready? (Pause.) You are everything I need, Psalm 119:57. (Repeat three times.) Now JUMP! (Jump four times with the children). Perfect! Let s do it again! At the end of the activity: Let s do it again, but this time let s see how fast we can do it. Are you ready? (Pause.) Whew! You sure are fast! Our verse tells us that is EVERYTHING that we need! We all NEED! Who do you need? (Pause.) I need!

ACTIVITY 4 Everyone What You Need: As many Fisher-Price Little People as you have. Before the activity: Hide the Little People around the room in easy-to-find places. During the activity: Encourage children to find all the hidden figures. Once they have, invite them to come sit down with you. Identify all the people. As you do, arrange them in a heart shape. At the start of the activity: We are on a hunt a people hunt! I ve hidden all the Little People around the room, and I need you to find them. When you ve found them, come back and sit with me. After kids have found the figures: Great people finding! Who did you find? (Let children tell you who they found as you arrange them into a heart shape.) Everyone needs, the (insert the type or category of person, such as Mommy or policeman ) and the (insert the type or category of person) and the (insert the type or category of person) need. Everyone needs! At the end of the activity: Awesome job finding all the people! You are all such wonderful helpers! We need people to help us. That is why we need in our lives! He is the best helper of all! We all need! Who do you need? (Pause.) I need!

ACTIVITY 5 What Do? What You Need: Need Cards Activity Page from the Website, white card stock, teaching wall, wall tape, and scissors Before the activity: Copy the Need Cards Activity Page on the card stock. Cut out each card. Tape all of the cards to the top of the wall except for the baseball glove. Tape the baseball to the center of the wall. During the activity: Have the children sit in front of the wall. Point to the baseball glove and ask the children which picture they would NEED to play catch. When the children say or point to the baseball, move the baseball next to the glove. Then move the basketball hoop to the center of the wall. Ask the children what they would NEED to shoot to make a basketball goal. When the answer is given, move the basketball next to the hoop. Continue the pattern by moving the soccer goal and the tennis racket to the middle of the board and allowing the children to match what is needed. At the end of the activity: Review the lesson. Before the activity: Let s play a game! I have a wall with pictures on it and I need your help to decide what we NEED to go together. Everyone have a seat on the floor in front of our pictures. During the activity: Do you see the picture in the middle? (Point to the baseball.) What is it? (Pause.) Yes! It is a baseball. Do you see a picture up here (point to the other pictures) that we would NEED to play a game of catch with the baseball? (Pause.) Yes, we would NEED the baseball glove! (Move the glove picture next to the ball.) Great job! (Move the basketball hoop to the center of the board and continue the game until all pictures have been matched.) At the end of the activity: (Point to the glove and ball.) To play with a baseball we would NEED a baseball glove. (Point to the hoop and basketball.) To shoot a basket we would NEED a basketball. (Point to the soccer goal and ball.) To kick a goal we would NEED a soccer ball. (Point to the tennis racquet and ball.) And, to play with a tennis racquet, we would NEED a tennis ball. We think we need things all time but there is ONE person that we ALL really need! We heard a true story from the Bible today and found out who that was! Who do we need? Yes! We need!

ACTIVITY 6 How I Help What You Need: Help from the Activity Pages on the website, white paper, crayons and markers Before the activity: Copy the Help Activity Page onto the paper. Encourage them to use both the crayons and the markers and to use a lot of color. At the end of the activity: Ask each child to describe his drawing and use a marker to write a brief description to finish the sentence at the bottom of the page. Before the activity: Today in our lesson we learned about four friends who helped a man who could couldn t walk. They knew their friend needed, and they took him to. Then helped the man in an AMAZING way by helping him walk again! Do you ever help your friends or your family? (Pause.) Oh, I bet you do! But I don t want you to tell me about it. I want you to DRAW it for me! During the activity: (Hand out the Activity Pages.) There is a HUGE space on this page for you to draw your favorite way to help someone. You can use a lot of color and you can use the crayons and the markers. When you are finished, raise your hand and I will come and see it! (When the child tells you what the drawing is, write a brief description by finishing the sentence on the bottom of the page.) At the end of the activity: Awesome job! SMALL GROUP Small Group Time What you Need: Paperclip Memory Verse Card from the week one Activity Pages on the Website in your Bible at Psalm 119:57. Provide a Small Group poster and marker for each classroom. SMALL GROUP LEADER (SGL): Friends are the best! Clap your hands with me if you love your friends. (Clap.) Yes! I m so glad God gave us friends. Today we learned that not only does have the power to help us, but He has the power to help our friends, too! That s awesome! I love how the friends in our lesson cared so much for their friend who couldn t walk that they carried him to. They knew could help their friend and nothing was going to stop them from getting their friend to. Our Bible verse says, You are everything I need, Psalm 119:57. is everything our friends need, too! Let s practice our verse so we can tell all our friends that is everything they need. Say it with me and do the motions. CHILDREN and SGL: You are everything I need, Psalm 119:57. SGL: One more time! CHILDREN and SGL: You are everything I need, Psalm 119:57. SGL: Now you can tell all your friends that is everything they need. Then when they need help, they can ask to help them, just like we do. I think we should make a list of some friends we can tell that is all they need. So tell me, who are some of your good friends? (Pause.) (Write down the names and what they say on the Small Group poster. Remember to print the words so they can recognize their names and letters. Once complete hang the poster for parents to look at during child pick up.) SGL: There! We have our list of friends. Now we can pray. Would anyone like to say your own prayer before I pray? (Pause.) (Give each child who wants to pray the opportunity to do so and then close with a prayer that includes the list the children made.)
