2018 CUMBRIA FELL AND DALES PONY SHOW The Show venue is at Jenkinsons Field Brougham near Penrith, Cumbria CA10 2DE. Please may we make you aware that this year there are various changes to the Show Timetable as well as some of the classes not following in numerical order. PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE NUMBER OF FELL PONY RIDDEN ENTRIES, THE RING WILL RUN ALL DAY AND AS SUCH CLASHES WILL BE INEVITABLE. CLASSES UNFORTUNATELY CANNOT BE HELD UP THIS YEAR. Yearling Colt, Filly or Gelding 4. Two Year Old Filly or Gelding 5. Three Year Old Filly or Gelding 6. Mare with Foal at Foot 7. Foal, to be at least 3 weeks old on show day and eligible for FPS Registration 8. Veteran Pony, 16 years and over (stallions excluded) Classes 1-6 AND 8 are qualifiers for the NPS/Highbrook Stud M&M In hand summer National Championship 9. The NPS/SARACEN HORSE FEEDS M&M Home Produced In Hand National Championship To be run under National Pony Society Rules 2018. Handler any age, except for stallions or colts where the handler must be 14 years of age or over. Please enter this class in the spirit it is intended. Competitors who contravene the above will be disqualified. The Pony eligible for the Championship final at the NPS Summer Championship Show is the first placed pony. Qualification may pass down to third if 1 st and 2 nd have qualified. 10. Fell Pony Young Handler (Handler to be 16 years or under as of 1 st January in the current year). RULES Exhibitors MUST be current fully paid up Members of either or both of the Fell Pony Society or Dales Pony Society. Please note that in the case of Dales Pony Classes; the Pony Handler must also be a fully paid up Member of the Dales Pony Society. Any person riding within the show premises must wear a riding hat conforming to current BSI hat safety standards. Hard hats to be worn by all competitors in Young Handler classes 10 AND 36 Ponies must be registered with either the Fell Pony Society or the Dales Pony Society. The current showing rules of each Breed Society apply to the appropriate classes. Please contact the Breed Society concerned if you need a copy. A Points Trophy will be awarded to the Fell or Dales Pony gaining the most points on the day. Points awarded for places 1 st to 6 th in all classes Stallion owners and exhibitors, please note that stallions at all times must be handled or ridden at the show by a person 16 years or over on 1 st January in the current year. This show actively encourages novice pony entries in all disciplines and as such stallions must be closely and actively observed whilst on the show field. Should entries be large, classes will be split. NPS MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND QUALIFYING ROUNDS NPS Mountain and Moorland Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These Ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. NPS @ Breed Shows NPS Membership Criteria Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members and at Breed Shows ponies can qualify for the final even if their owners are not NPS members. The owner of a pony qualifying at a Breed Show must become an NPS Qualifying member for the pony to enter the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. At Breed Shows ponies can win Silver Medal Rosettes even if their owners are not members of the NPS but they must become NPS Qualifying members to enter the final. COMPLAINTS This show has been organised to encourage entries from novice and experienced competitors alike. We want this to be an enjoyable show. With that in mind, we hope exhibitors will come and have a nice day with their ponies. If you really must complain, your complaint must be in writing, signed and accompanied by a fee of 40.00 cash, which will only be returned if the complaint is upheld.
