#32 ROCKIES STARTING PITCHER TYLER CHATWOOD RHP Height: 6-0 Weight: 185 Age: 27 (Dec. 16, 1989) Born: Redlands, Calif. Acquired: From Los Angeles-AL, Nov. 30, 2011 CHAT ABOUT THAT The 27-year-old Redlands, Calif., native made his fourth career and second consecutive Opening Day roster after missing all of 2015 due to recovery from Tommy John surgery. Will be making his 108th career appearance, 99th start today has made 79 appearances, 72 starts with the Rockies since 2012. LAST TIME OUT Earned his fourth win of the season May 24th at Philadelphia in a 7-2 Rockies win pitched seven shutout innings, allowing one hit with four walks and a season-high eight strikeouts. Became the seventh Rockies pitcher to toss seven or more shutout innings while allowing one or fewer hits (also: Jorge De La Rosa 3x, Ubaldo Jimenez 2x, Jason Jennings 2x, Jhoulys Chacin, Jon Gray, Denny Stark). Became only the second pitcher in Rockies history to toss seven or more shutout innings while allowing one or fewer hits while striking out eight or more batters Jorge De La Rosa accomplished the feat on April 9, 2010 vs. San Diego. The streak of six quality starts on the road (April 6-June 18), which ended at Miami June 18 with an injury, was the longest for the Rockies since Jhoulys Chacin also recorded six consecutive quality road starts, May 27-Aug. 7, 2013 the last Rockies pitcher to record a streak of seven quality starts on the road was Jason Hammel, May 3-July 1, 2009. WITH EASE Pitched his first career complete-game shutout April 15 at San Francisco in a 5-0 Rockies win allowed two hits and one walk with four strikeouts. Chatwood retired the first 17 batters in order, the second-longest perfect game bid in franchise history the Giants Chris Marrero broke up the perfect game and no-hitter with a single to right field with two outs in the sixth inning only Bettis has gone longer among Rockies pitchers all-time, sitting down the first 18 hitters at Philadelphia on May 29, 2015. It was the seventh complete-game shutout by a Rockies pitcher while allowing two hits or fewer the most recent two-hitter prior to Chatwood was by Chad Bettis, Sept. 5, 2016 vs. San Francisco at Coors Field. It was only the fifth Rockies complete-game shutout vs. the Giants and the third at AT&T Park Ubaldo Jimenez accomplished the feat on May 31, 2010 and Jeff Francis blanked the Giants in San Francisco on Aug. 29, 2007. It was Chatwood s second career complete game he lost 1-0, allowing four hits in eight innings, on July 13, 2013 at Dodger Stadium.
