Hardison FANNING SPRINGS -- The Suwannee River Fair (SRF) Awards Ceremony provided an opportunity for recognizing the young people who excelled in many aspects of agricultural interests and in other life skills. He mentioned that all of the first place Showmanship belt buckles were donated by Kathy Inman of Kloverleaf Tack of Williston. President Brookins shared with the crowd, too, that there were Second Place -56 hogs, 98 feeder cattle, Third Place -First Place - fat steer entered for sale this year. That is Third Place -85 animals.

Added to those were many chickens, roosters, rabbits, goats and dogs. The awards program began with the awarding of scholarships. Kinsey Ward of Chiefland Sr. FFA was presented with a $500 scholarship check from Farm Credit Of Florida (based in Trenton) by Jeffrey Spencer. The SRF awarded a $500 scholarship check to Whitney Stemple of Dixie Sr. FFA. Harper Siegel of Coastal Companions 4H was presented with the $500 scholarship check from the Swine Committee. Brookins said this was the Work Horse Award. Following are some the many photographs taken of winners from the night.

Holding the plaque for First Place Gain In Weight of the Fat Steer is Wyatt Allen of Wilcox 4H. Standing next to him is SRF Superintendent Peewee Jones. In the Group Steer, Fat Steer competition, holding the plaque for Third Place are Jillian Sanchez, Abbi NesSmith and Kole VanAernam of Dixie FFA.

The winners are First Place - Carsen McKenzie of Wilcox 4H; Second Place - Cydney Watkins of Buckaroos 4H; and Third Place - Hailey Griffis of Williston Wranglers 4H. The winners are First Place - Sam Mills of Chiefland Middle FFA; Second Place - Melonie Piechocki of Bell Middle FFA; and Third Place - Colby Etheridge of Williston Wranglers 4H.

Sponsored by Palms Medical Group, the Mr. Loran s BBQ Contest, with Superintendent Holly Houghton, resulted in Junior Division winners First Place - Hannah Quincey of Chiefland Middle FFA; Second Place - Sam Mills of Chiefland Middle FFA; Third Place - Burlynne Mejeris of Cedar Key Jr. FFA; and Fourth Place J.W. Ripley of Bell Sr. FFA. Sponsored by Palms Medical Group, the Mr. Loran s BBQ Contest, with Superintendent Holly Houghton, resulted in Senior Division First Place - Dakota Horlocker of Chiefland Sr. FFA.

Best of Show Winners in the Creative Life Skills contests, sponsored by Ward Farms with Superintendent Brooke Ward, were Program Cover - Victoria Hutson of Chiefland Sr. FFA; Foods - Hannah Langford of Klover Kids 4H; Photography - Braley Hines of Buckaroos 4H; Clothing - Elexis Pinkard of Outdoor Adventures 4H; Textiles - Kaylee Douglas of Bell Middle FFA; and Handicrafts - Sam Mills of Chiefland Middle FFA. In the Primary Division of the AG Management Contest, the winners were First Place - Easton Douglas of Southern Style 4H; Second Place Austin Phillips of Levy 4H; Third Place - Savanna Jerrels of Kountry Kids 4H; and Fourth Place -- Jolee Smith of Soaring Eagles 4H.

In the Junior Division of the AG Management Contest, the winners were First Place - Dakota Smith of Bell Middle FFA; Second Place - Rieley Beauchamp of Chiefland Middle FFA; Third Place - Kaylee Douglas of Bell Middle FFA; Fourth Place J.W. Ripley of Bell Middle FFA; Fifth Place Warren Smith of Soaring Eagles 4H; and Sixth Place Kyle Wilson of Bell Middle FFA. In the Senior Division of the AG Management Contest, the winners were First Place Trinity Grissett of Dixie Sr. FFA; Second Place - Dakota Horlocker of Chiefland Sr. FFA; Third Place - Emily Horlocker of Chiefland Sr. FFA; Fourth Place Kailee Hurst of Dixie Sr. FFA; Fifth Place Austin Bagby of Bell Sr. FFA.

In the Senior Division of the AG Management Contest, the Champion was Trinity Grissett of Dixie Sr. FFA. In Rabbit Showmanship, sponsored by Dr. Bill Martin, Martin Orthodontics, where Showmanship, the winners in the Primary Division were First Place - Kayley Jones (not shown); Second Place -Brooke Batey of Bridle Brigade 4H; and Third Place -Reese Solowski (not shown).

This is one of the sets of Record Book winners, which was sponsored by Grady and Lou Jones. This set of Record Book winners is from the Sale Animals. The winners are First Place Senior Division - Stephanie Guardiola of Shooting Sports 4H; Second Place Senior Division - Whitney Stempleof Dixie Sr. FFA; Third Place Senior Division - Dakota Horlocker of Chiefland Sr. FFA; First Place Junior Division - Hannah Quincey of Chiefland Middle FFA; Second Place Junior Division - Ashtyn Fuquay of Wilcox 4H; Third Place Junior Divison - Sidney Bray of Bronson Middle FFA; First Place Primary Division - Braley Hines of Buckaroos 4H; Second Place Primary Division - Savanna Jerrels of Kountry Kids 4H; and Third Place Primary Division Judson Hancock of Kountry Kids 4H.
