I hope you ve been out on the slopes enjoying winter! FLSC has had some fun adventures already. About 22 people came to the kickoff party at Song Mountain on January 7, and more than 15 headed to Bristol Mountain on January 18 for I Ski NY Day. Another 20 went north to Mont Tremblant and are just returning from a great long weekender led by Paulette LeFever. Looking ahead, we still have our big trip to Cortina, Italy March 2 11 with 42 participants. Your ski club is well represented out in the ski world, with board members meeting tour operators and gathering the 4-1-1 so we can offer the best value and trips to our members. Dan Cannucciari will attend the annual Mountain Travel Symposium (MTS) in South Lake Tahoe in mid-april. He will get info for the 2019 big trip that he will lead. Spoiler alert he s leaning towards Sun Valley, Idaho (but no promises yet). Art Price will go on a familiarization tour of Whitefish Mountain in Montana in late March, and Linda Tersegno just returned from a FAM trip to Zermatt, Switzerland. Sadly, we recently learned of Warren Miller s passing at age 93. A legend in the movie industry, Miller shot more than 500 films, but was best known for his 60+ ski movies. Olympic skier Jonny Moseley will continue Miller s legacy so we won t miss out on the action every November when the newest film comes out! Our next club party/meeting is Tuesday, March 20 when we ll elect next year s officers. We need a V.P. please step up and help your ski club! See you on the slopes soon! ~ FLSC President Kelly Buck 2
