SHOWCASE DINNERS Over the last 3 weeks the Grade 3/4s have been showing off their culinary finesse and their dance moves at the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Showcase Dinners. With the help of Deborah, our head chef, the students created an Indian feast which delighted all the senses as well as wowing their families with a Bollywood inspired dance. We would like to thank all the staff and parents who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, washing dishes and supporting the children. It was such a pleasure to see so many parents supporting the program, making it a highly successful night. Dianne Keats, Joy Terrenzani and Rhonwyn Oldland My favourite thing was serving all the food. Why it was my favourite part was because I could smell all the delicious and mouthwatering food. Sadly, we did not get to eat the food. Anthony 3/4 B There was a hush in the room as the sliding walls opened. I was nervous as I waited in my position for the dance to start. The music began. I was so happy I forgot how nervous I was. I wanted to dance all night. It was so much fun!!! Gabi 3/4 B I liked serving because it was fun and I felt like a real waiter. I also liked serving because I got to serve parents I didn t even know. It was scary but fun. Xaige 3/4 C The best thing about the showcase dinner was the dance. The costume shimmered, the bangles shook and even the parents joined in. Anya 3/4 C On the 12 th August was the amazingest day ever! 3/4A held their very own showcase dinner. It was based on Indian food and culture The minute I got to school in the morning there was butterflies in my stomach like crazy. Julia 3/4 A I was setting up the tables. There were candles, poises, table cloths, napkins and numbers. When my family came I gave them the placemats and menus. Sarah 3/4 A

HOOP TIME SENIOR ROUND ROBIN DAY Last week, Whitehorse Primary School had 2 teams compete in the Senior Hooptime Round Robin Day at Nunawading Basketball Stadium. Both teams competed in the Future Stars division. The teams played shortened basketball matches against schools from around our area, such as Doncaster Gardens Primary School and Milgate Primary School. Each of the teams played 4 fixture games and both teams were lucky enough to play in the finals. Our Future Stars 2 team, the Whitehorse Wasps, won half their matches and at each game improved on their skills overall. Our Future Stars 1 team, Whitehorse Warriors, won all their matches and went on to be the champions for the Future Stars division on the day. The Warriors now go on to play in the Regional Finals later in the year. Thank you to all our parents and families who came along on the day to support the players. A big thank you to Mich Crupi, Goran Savic, Jacqui Furr, Craig Taylor, who also assisted with transport. Congratulations to both teams for a great day!
