Check out the Local Board Member profiles on the website. Term 4 Collective Worship Tolerance Our worship theme for Term 4 is Tolerance. Next week we will be considering Tolerance of others justice. We would like to remind you that Celebration Assembly is at 9 am every Friday morning. You are all very welcome to join us to celebrate the hard work that has been going on in all our classes during the week. Don t forget, if you are unable to make it to the service, you are able to look at photos on the website to see what the children have been doing during the week. Check out the website and see the item on our Christian Values. We believe it is important to promote core Christian Values by which to live and the ones we have specifically chosen for our school are Diligence, Kindness, Tolerance, Honesty and Respect. We want our pupils to explore and develop these important values during their time with us at Christian Malford School.

1 Thank you to everyone who came along and had their car shampooed whilst they enjoyed coffee and cake last Sunday. The car washers did a good trade and lots of people attended. FOS raised in excess of 160 2 RED NOSES ARE NOW ON SALE IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE FOR 1 EACH. On 24 th March at School we are holding a Dress up as a character of one of the 2017 Red Noses which costs 1 per child this of course will go towards the Red Nose Appeal. There is plenty of choice for dressing up the noses this year are Doctor, Viking, Owl, Dog, Dragon, Sailor, Popstar, Wizard or a Mummy! 3 We have enjoyed some sporting successes over the last week. Last Friday our Year 5 and 6 Hockey team took part in the County Championships in Devizes. They played exceptionally well and at the end of the day came 7 th. Yesterday our Year 3,4 and 5 Football team played in a festival at the Red Bull Pitches in Malmesbury and after fantastic gamesmanship came a very respectable third!! Well done to both teams. 4 The Worship Council took a lovely assembly earlier this week on our theme of Tolerance. They were aided in this by Katherine Bloomer and did a wonderful job. 5 FOS are hosting a POPCORN CLUB straight after school on Friday March 31st. They will be showing TROLLS which is a U certificate film. The cost is 2.50 per child which includes squash and a snack. The event will end at approx. 5PM and you will need to make arrangements to collect your child. If your child wants to attend this event can you please fill in the permission slip in your book bag today indicating how your child will be getting home and return it to School as soon as possible together with payment - CASH OR CHEQUE ONLY PLEASE NOT BACS. Please fill in one slip per child as this becomes their ticket in the draw to take the DVD home after it is shown. 6 Amelia, Tobias and their Mums Lisa and Gemma are taking part in Mad March Hare. This is a 5k run for Breast Cancer Now (Charity number 116058) and is taking place on Mother s Day, Sunday 26 th March. They would love for you to help raise money for this worthwhile cause by sponsoring them. Their sponsor form is on justgiving.com search for Gemma Haines Mad March if you would like to help. 7 8 Orchard Class are holding an Italian Restaurant Afternoon on Friday 7 th April from 2 pm. Parents and members of the community are invited to join and share with Orchard Class their hard work from their topic on Italy. The children will be setting up stalls in groups that represent their restaurant. There will be copies of menus, signs, logos, flyers and even samples of food and drink. As well as getting a chance to see and hear about the children s business ideas, there will also be tea, coffee and cake available as well as some Italian themed games run by the children. Any money raised will go towards paying for the year 5/6 coach for residential this year and is just one of our many fundraising ideas. Sainsburys are giving out their Active Kids vouchers again. Vouchers will be given out from 25 January until 30 June, so please collect as many as you can and ask friends and family to do so too. There is a collection box for vouchers in the foyer. 9 10 11 12 SCARECROW TRAIL HELP NEEDED The Christian Malford Scarecrow Trail takes place next weekend 25 th and 26 th March and is Children s Toys and Games Through the Ages. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN ON ONE OF THE DAYS, EITHER WITH SERVING REFRESHMENTS, SELLING TRAIL SHEETS OR RAFFLE TICKETS THERE IS A TASK FOR EVERYONE! WE CAN T DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR HELP AND THIS EVENT IS A GOOD FUND RAISER FOR THE SCHOOL AND ACORNS. SIGN UP SHEET IN THE FOYER. The FOS are organising a Bag2School collection in early May. 2 bags per family will be given out in a couple of weeks time, which can be filled with various items and brought into school ON 9 TH MAY FOR COLLECTION FROM SCHOOL ON 10 TH MAY. PLEASE DO NOT BRING BEFORE THIS TIME AS WE DO NOT HAVE SPACE TO STORE THE BAGS! Please can you start collecting items the more we collect the more money is raised as we are paid based on weight. A list of items is attached to the newsletter so you can keep it separately. There is one date left for a TD day for the Academic Year 2016/2017 which is: Monday 5th June 2017. There is also advance notice of a TD day on Friday 1st September 2017.
