Dorothy Tomiuk displayed photographs of the 2011 Tour de Mississauga, and commented on the Tour Banner that was autographed by participants of the 2011 Tour de Mississauga. Mississauga Cycling - 3 - October 11, 2011 Need more riding Marshalls with first aid material Explore possibility of charging a participation fee David Bell Explore possibility of picking up stranded riders Changing flat tires en route Krista Lethbridge Explore possible sponsorship from Mi-way Darrin Wolter Need to contact potential sponsors early in the year Jeff Wachman Krista to send photographs to potential sponsors Need at least two major sponsorships of $1,500 each Syed Ali Need better Start and Finish banners Councillor Chris Fonseca Received positive feedback from participants Good food provided for the participants Publicize related road closures to avoid cyclists using the entire road Need more rest/water stations at key locations long the tour route Explore possibility of better training for school volunteer Marshalls, possibly commencing in May/June Share-The-Road education Need to send out sponsorship package early in the year. 3. 2012 Tour de Mississauga Sunday, September 16, 2012 Committee discussed preparations for the 2012 Tour de Mississauga event, with a tentative date for Sunday, September 16, 2012. Committee was comfortable with not changing the 2012 tour event date. Andy Bate was of the opinion that the Terry Fox Run should not have any impact on the Tour de Mississauga. Don Stephens advised that the Committee is sensitive to any conflicts with the Terry Fox

Mississauga Cycling - 4 - October 11, 2011 Run. Chair, Jeff Wachman suggested the possibility of working with Trillium Health. Jacquelyn Hayward Gulati, Manager Cycling Office advised of a memo from the Mayor seeking response from MCAC Chair with respect to the Tour de Mississauga date conflict with the Terry Fox Run. The Chair, Jeff Wachman advised that a report will be prepared, in collaboration with the Manager Cycling Office, to General Committee seeking confirmation of the date for the 2012 Tour de Mississauga. 4. Annual update to Council, November 23, 2011 Committee discussed preparations for the annual update to Council at its meeting scheduled to be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. The following members agreed to prepare and present the annual update to Council: Jeff Wachman (Chair) Darrin Wolter Don Stephens (Vice Chair) Dorothy Tomiuk Jacquelyn Hayward-Gulati 5. Fall 2011 Ward 3 Group Ride Committee discussed the fall 2011 group ride in Ward 3 scheduled to be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Jacquelyn Hayward Gulati, Manager Cycling Office distributed a draft map to the members. A confirmed map will be distributed in due course. 6. The Recycler Committee discussed a proposal from The Recycler to create bicycle sculpture to decorate the Mississauga Celebration Square s skating rink during the winter season. Dorothy Tomiuk suggested non-denominational decoration for the Square in the form of 10 trees made out of recycled bicycle parts at an approximate cost of $200-$500 per tree. The Chair, Jeff Wachman suggested a preference for two 15 trees at an approximate cost of $300 each.

Mississauga Cycling - 5 - October 11, 2011 The Committee agreed with the Chair s suggestion. Allan Harder suggested a permanent structure be erected in the Celebration Square. 7. Speaker for Cycling Workshop Jacquelyn Hayward-Gulati, Manager Cycling Office provided an update on the proposed guest speaker for the public session on cycling in Mississauga. Jacquelyn advised that she contacted Vélo Québec who have expressed their willingness. The Chair, Jeff Wachman suggested that the public session be organized some time during the last week of November 2011. 8. Port Credit Bike Racks Jacquelyn Hayward-Gulati, Manager Cycling Office circulated a Memorandum dated October 11, 2011 titled Pilot Project New bike racks as part of Port Credit Cultural Node and sought feedback from members at the next MCAC meeting scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Refer recommendation MCAC-0026-2011. 9. Sidewalk cyclists face crackdown Article from The Toronto Star of September 1, 2011 referred by Councillor Pat Saito for review and comments from the Mississauga Cycling. The Committee decided to defer this item to the next MCAC meeting scheduled to be held on November 8, 2011. Refer recommendation MCAC-0026-2011. 10. 2011 Phil Green Recognition Award The Chair, Jeff Wachman suggested Jocelyn Lovell as a potential recipient for the 2011 Phil Green Recognition Award, and requested John Britto, Legislative Coordinator to find out details about Jocelyn. 11.
