RULES & POLICIES USA Gymnastics Double Mini-Trampoline J.O. RULES AND POLICIES DOUBLE MINI-TRAMPOLINE QUICK-REFERENCE For complete information, see the Rules & Policies on the USAG web site at www.usa-gymnastics.org 1. Age Determination 1.1 Each level of the J.O. Program is divided into age groups. The age of the competitor on December 31 of the current year determines the age group in which he/she competes. 1.2 Age groups for: Levels 1-7* Levels 8-9* 6 & Under 10 & Under 7-8 11-12 9-10 13-14 11-12 15 & Over 13-14 15 & Over *NOTE: Upon the approval of the Meet Director and personal coach, an athlete may move up to the next older age group if he/she is the only athlete competing in his/her age group. 1.3 Age groups for Level 10 10-12 13-14 15-16 17 & Over 2. Appeals 2.1 An appeal can only be filed by a coach or competitor. Spectators are not allowed to participate in the appeal process. A difficulty inquiry can be made at the judge s table using the appropriate form. (See Rules and Policies for inquiry form.) 2.2 The written appeal, with the appropriate appeal fee must be submitted to the Meet Referee prior to the start of the next round. The next round is the actual competition, not the warm-up of the next flight. In the case of an appeal concerning the final pass, the appeal must be submitted immediately after the end of the round. In any case, no appeals will be accepted after the medals have been awarded. 2.3 Appeals concerning the execution scores can only be made with respect to numerical error. 2.4 Appeals must be dealt with by the Jury of Appeal prior to the start of the next round and their decision must be announced immediately. 2.5 Video 2.5.1 Levels 1-8: The organizing committee is not required to have an official video. The Jury of Appeal may review a video submitted by the coach or athlete filing the appeal. All video submitted must be from the appropriate angle. The angle should be from the same perspective as the judges. Video shot from the end will not be used. 2.5.2 Levels 9-10: The organizing committee is required to have an official video for the Jury of Appeal to review. 2.5.3 The Jury of Appeal may not watch the video individually. They must assemble in the designated location in order to view the video together. The video will be watched at real time and a straw poll will be taken, after which discussion may be held. If necessary the jury may re-watch the video and a straw poll will be taken after each viewing. 2.5.4 Coaches are not allowed to speak to the Jury of Appeal. All information must be in writing on the appeal form. 2.5.5 The decision of the Jury of Appeal is final. DM-2

USA Gymnastics Double Mini-Trampoline RULES & POLICIES 2.6 Appeal Fee 2.6.1 Local Competitions $25.00 2.6.2 State Competitions $50.00 2.6.3 Regional Championships $75.00 2.6.4 National Championships $100.00 2.7 Jury of Appeal composition 2.7.1 Local, State and Regional Competitions Meet Director 1 Superior Judge 1 Meet Referee* 1 (*State or Regional Technical Chair) 2.7.2 National competitions Program Committee Member 1 Technical Committee Member 2 2.7.2.1 If any of the appointed members are involved in the judges panel or in the decision taken they must recuse themselves from the Jury. 2.7.2.2 If any member is unable to serve on the Jury of Appeal the meet referee may replace him/her. 2.8 If the appeal is sustained, the fee will be returned. If the appeal is overruled, the fee will be retained by the organizer. 3. Calculation of a Score 3.1 The evaluation of execution (form, height and control), and difficulty is done in tenths of a point. 3.2 The marks of the judges must be written down independently of each other. 3.3 The Execution Judges evaluate the form, execution and control and write down their marks on a score sheet. 3.4 For all completed passes the Execution Judges will add 8.0 pts to their score, to show their mark out of 10.0. 3.5 For passes with only one element, the judges will add 6.0 pts to show their mark out of 7.0. 3.6 When signaled by the Superior Judge, the marks for the Execution Judges must be shown simultaneously. 3.7 If any of the Execution Judges fail to show their marks when signaled by the Superior Judge, then the average of the other marks will be taken for the missing mark. The decision is made by the Superior Judge. 3.8 Calculation of the Score for Execution 3.8.1 The deductions for poor execution are subtracted from the maximum mark declared by the Superior Judge. 3.8.2 Execution Judges scores must be no more than 0.2 pts higher or 0.2 pts lower than the median score. The Superior Judge will instruct the Execution Judges to re-evaluate their scores if the score(s) are out-of-range. 3.8.3 The three Execution Judges scores are added together for the execution score for each pass. 3.8.4 Levels 1-4: If one Execution Judge is used, the total mark for the pass will be multiplied by three to determine the total score for each pass. 3.8.5 The combined total of the two passes determines the final score. 3.9 Calculation of the Score for Difficulty 3.9.1 The Difficulty Judge calculates the difficulty of each pass and enters it on the competition card. 3.10 Calculation of the Competitor s Total Score for the Round 3.10.1 The difficulty value is added to the total of the three Execution Judges score to determine the total for each pass. 3.10.2 The combined total of the two passes determines the final score for preliminaries. 3.10.3 Level 9-10: If finals are held, the total from preliminaries is added to the total from the final to determine the overall score.
