MOVING ON: The winner will play at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 27 at Ford Field in Detroit against the winner of today s St. Ignace vs. Muskegon Catholic Central D8 semifinal contest. HOW THEY GOT HERE: Whiteford is in the semifinals for the first time in school history. They reached this point by beating Climax-Scotts in the Regional final, 48-14. Our Lady of the Lakes defeated Michigan Lutheran Seminary, 32-6. RANKINGS: Whiteford was not ranked at the end of the season in the Associated Press top 10 while but did earn a No. 9 ranking by the Detroit Free Press. WOLL was ranked No. 3 by the AP and No. 5 by the Free Press heading into the playoffs. It captured its third District title in school history by defeating Morenci, 26-6 on Friday, November 6, and its first Regional title in school history by defeating Climax-Scotts 48-14. Whiteford has two losses this season, one of which was to Tri-County Conference champion Clinton, who is 12-0 and in the Division 6 state semifinals. The other loss was to 7-3 Summerfield. The Bobcats also scrimmaged Ida during the pre-season. Ida is a Division 5 semifinalist. Against Climax-Scotts, the Bobcats scored 40 first-half points against a team that had given up 39 points all season entering the Regional final. Whiteford rolled up 565 yards of total offense and secured a season-high 23 first downs in the game. Whiteford has scored a school-record 477 points this season (39.8 ppg).

page 3 WHITEFORD PLAYER NOTES QUARTERBACK RECORDS Sophomore quarterback Thomas Eitniear has started every game this season. He has 49 completions in 80 attempts (61.3%) for 1,030 yards and a school-record 14 touchdowns. He broke the school s single-game record for passing yards with 292 (completing all 10 of his passes) in Saturday s Regional final against previously undefeated Climax-Scotts. His 4 TD passes tied a Bobcat single-game record. ALL-PURPOSE BACK Junior running back Jesse Kiefer scored four touchdowns against Climax-Scotts, giving a single-season Whiteford record of 22 TDs on the season. He has 40 career TDs, two shy of the Whiteford career TD record. He was 1,000-yard rusher as a sophomore for the Bobcats in 2014. THE CONNECTION Eitniear and Kiefer have hooked up this season for eight TD passes covering 86, 58, 19, 26, 5, 8, 97 and 36 yards. Jesse Kiefer is averaging 34.5 yards per score on his 22 touchdowns. LINEBACKING DUO Senior middle linebackers Josh Beck and Jake Becki have combined for 211 tackles. Both have reached double digits in tackles six times this season. Offensively, he is second on the team in rushing (696 yards) and scoring (8 TDs). Becki has 113 tackles and 270 yards receiving on offense. Both were named First Team All-Region by The Monroe Evening News. OH, BROTHER Whiteford boasts several brother combinations on its playoff roster. They include: Junior Jesse Kiefer and senior Cody Kiefer, both starting varsity players. Sophomore varsity QB Thomas Eitniear, and brother Ty Eitniear, who played on the JV team this season. Junior starting center Jack Donnelly and brother Nicholas Donnelly, a freshman who was the starting center on the JV team. Herbie Bertz, a junior who plays running back, defensive back and kicks for the Bobcats, and his freshman brother Zach Bertz, one of the top rushers on the JV team. Senior defensive lineman Blake Wing and freshman lineman Bryce Wing. ALL-TCC BOBCATS Whiteford put six players on the First Team All Tri-County Conference team selected at the end of the season. They include Offensive Guard Hunter Nagle, Tight End Jake Becki, Running back Jesse Kiefer, Defensive End Cody Kiefer, Inside Linebacker Josh Beck and Defensive back Preston Schrier. Connor Hoogendoorn was a honorable mention choice. BOBCAT PLAYOFF RECORD Whiteford senior Josh Beck (5-11, 215) is playing in his 10th career playoff game, a school record. KICKING GAME Whiteford has attempted eight conversion kicks this season, with Herbie Bertz making seven of them. It is the most conversion kicks for a Bobcat team under Coach Jason Mensing in his four years at Whiteford. GETTING DEFENSIVE Whiteford s defense has four TDs this season. Andrew Mercurio scored on a blocked punt, Steven Bieber recovered a mishandled punt snap in the end zone, Jesse Kiefer returned a fumble and Preston Schrier had a interception return for a score. Whiteford s Connor Hoogendoorn also recorded a fumble recovery TD, this one coming while playing offense. FUTURE BOBCATS Whiteford s JV team recorded the first undefeated team in school history this season, going 9-0.
