Class 28 NPS M&M FIRST RIDDEN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP THE B.S.P.S HERITAGE MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND OPEN (RESTRICTED) FIRST RIDDEN Mares or geldings 4 years old and over not exceeding 128 cms. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st Jan in the current year. Those eligible for BSPS restricted must wear an armband. This class is also a qualifier for the Equifest/Equichip M&M First Ridden Final Championship G First and Second prize winners in classes 25 28 to compete. Champion and Not Before 11:30am Judge: Miss K Gillott Class 29 BEGINNERS RIDDEN Open to any type of horse or pony aged 4yrs and over. Riders any age. No spurs and whips not to exceed 30 inches. Combination of horse/pony must not have won a first prize in any ridden class. Please enter this class in the spirit intended. If sufficient entries, this class will be split into a) juniors 14 years and under including lead rein and b) riders over 14 years. Champion and Judge: Mr R Parker-Jones NPS M&M OPEN RIDDEN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP THE B.S.P.S HERITAGE MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND OPEN (RESTRICTED) RIDDEN MIXED BREEDS Stallions, mares and geldings four years old and over, registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society stud book. Riders any age (except stallions see BSPS and NPS rules). Those eligible for BSPS restricted must wear an armband. These classes are also qualifiers for the Equifest/M&M Open Ridden Championship Class 38 Class 39 Dartmoor, Exmoor and Shetland Welsh A and B

Awards: Rosettes to 6th place in all classes. Additional prizes in mini classes. Leicestershire and Rutland Members Rosettes will be presented to the highest placed L&R member in every class. Green armband to be worn. An NCPA Star Rosette will be awarded in classes 3, 11, 22, 29 and 40. Exhibitors must enter the ring wearing their NCPA badge and present their current year s membership card to the judge. BLUE armband to be worn. An NCPA Registered Rosette will be awarded in classes 6, 13, 19, 26 and 34 It is a condition of entry that the pony NCPA registered number be stated on the entry form and pink cards must be presented in the ring. RED armband to be worn.

Affiliations NPS This show is affiliated to the National Pony Society and the NPS affiliated classes will be run under NPS rules. Classes are open to Members and Non-Members of the NPS, but Non-Members will need to become Qualifying or Life members to enter the finals at the NPS Spring Festival 2018. The NPS General Rules for Showing apply (see NPS website for details). In each class the three highest placed ponies, not already qualified, within the first six places, will qualify. Winnings in the 2017/2018 Novice and Pure Novice Winter Championships will not debar ponies from the NPS 2018 Mountain and Moorland Novice Ridden competitions. BSPS This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society ( B.S.P.S. ), and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in B.S.P.S. classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S. are subject to the Rules of the B.S.P.S., including the disciplinary procedures, and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the B.S.P.S. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will qualify in the Novice classes and in the mixed height novice classes the 1st - 4th prize winners will qualify. In the open classes the three highest placed Restricted animals will qualify and in the mixed height Open classes the four highest placed Restricted animals will qualify. (Riders on Restricted animals must wear an armband). Animals must be registered before the date of the Show at which they qualify for the Winter Championships and must be ridden by B.S.P.S. Members, except in the case of exhibitors who have never been members before who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies. Riders to be the correct age for the height of the pony they ride. The following Classes 19-22, 24 28 and 33-42 are B.S.P.S. qualifiers for the 2018 B.S.P.S. Winter Championships Show. RULES FOR RESTRICTED QUALIFICATION IN THE HERITAGE LEADING REIN AND HERITAGE FIRST RIDDEN CLASSES:- Animals eligible for the Restricted Heritage Leading Rein and Heritage First Ridden Classes must NOT have been placed 1 st to 8 th at the R.I.H.S. (except Pretty Polly), or H.O.Y.S. in the M&M Leading Rein and M&M First Ridden Classes in 2016/2017/2018. RULES FOR RESTRICTED QUALIFICATION IN THE HERITAGE RIDDEN CLASSES:- Animals eligible for the Restricted Heritage Ridden Classes must NOT have been placed 1 st to 8 th at the R.I.H.S. (except Pretty Polly and Young Riders), or H.O.Y.S., or Olympia in the M&M Ridden Classes in 2016/2017/2018. The HERITAGE WOW FACTOR Ponies placed 1 st in the OPEN/RESTRICTED HERITAGE classes will qualify to the BSPS WINNER OF WINNERS at the BSPS Summer Championship Show.

B.S.P.S PREMIER LEAGUE 1 st -4 th prizewinners in the OPEN/RESTRICTED classes will qualify for the BSPS PREMIER LEAGUE at the BSPS Summer Championship Show. New Rules for Hats as follows:- Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats Nos. PAS015, VG1, ASTMF1163 (2004) WITH SEI mark, SNELL E2001, Australian & New Zealand All AS/NZS 3838 1998 MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted Equifest This show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on 8 th -12 th August 2018. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. NCPA This show is a qualifier for the NCPA Pony of the Year to be held at Warren Farm, Formby L37 0AN on the 9th September 2018. 1st 3rd placed inclusive in appropriate classes will qualify. Champion and Reserves will qualify for the Golden Ticket Finals. CHAPS This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). Affiliation No. 18064. Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However in order to Qualify both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card. The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held 30 th August 1 st September 2018. The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers: 5 7, 30 31 plus the highest placed CHAPS (UK) member in 23 and 24. All stallions, 4 years old and over entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). All stallions must wear Stallion ID Discs in the ring without exception. Specific rules for CHAPS/BSPS Winter restricted qualifiers: Exhibits not to have qualified for HOYS in the current and previous year in which the Finals will be held (e.g. for 2018 Finals the horse or pony must not have qualified for HOYS in either 2017 or 2016). BOTH THE OWNER AND THE RIDER OF ANY EXHIBIT NEED NOT BE FULLY PAID-UP MEMBERS OF CHAPS (UK) AT THE TIME OF COMPETITION, NOR MUST THE ANIMAL BE REGISTERED; BUT TO VALIDATE THE QUALIFICATION, BOTH MEMBERSHIP AND REGISTRATION MUST BE IN PLACE WITH CHAPS (UK) AT THE TIME OF ENTERING THE RELEVANT YEARS FINALS AND BOTH SECTIONS OF THE QUALIFIER CARD MUST BE RETURNED AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE CARD. MEMBERSHIP/REGISTRATION FROM CHAPS (UK) ADMIN, 1 MCLAREN COTTAGES, ABERTYSSWG, RHYMNEY, TREDEGAR NP22 5BH. ALL STALLIONS MUST BE GRADED WITH CHAPS (UK) IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN THESE CLASSES. The 2 highest placed from each height/type category may qualify. Miniature Horse Club GB This show is affiliated to the MHCGB, and the MHCGB classes are run under the rules of the Miniature Horse Club of Great Britain, a copy of which can be found on our website (www.mhcgb.co.uk). Classes are open to members and non-members provided they are eligible to compete with the Miniature Horse Club of Great Britain. Classes are open to horses not exc 38". Horses placed 1st to 3rd in all classes will qualify for The Grand Championship Show to be held at Oakridge Arena, near Newark, on the 25th, 26th and 27th August 2018. Non-members will be required to become paid up members within 4 weeks of qualification to be able to compete at the Grand Championship Show.

Show Rules It is a condition of entry that all Exhibitors agree to be bound by the rules hereunder. The organising committee accept no responsibility whatsoever for any loss, injury or damage to any person or property whilst on the showground, car parks or approaches. The organising committee reserves the right to refuse any entry without assigning a reason and will not tolerate bad behaviour of any kind. Entry Fees will not be refunded, and it is the exhibitor s responsibility to ensure the entry is correct, eligible and that they are available for their classes, unless a veterinary certificate is produced. In the event of the show being cancelled, refunds will be made less an administration fee of 3.00 per entry. Exhibitors must take into consideration any classes that may clash. If this occurs, they must nominate which class they wish to compete in. No nomination or substitute entries will be accepted. The Judge s decision is final. Any objections must be made in writing with a deposit of 30.00 CASH. (to be forfeited if the objection is over-ruled) within 30minutes of the class taking place. Entries for any affiliated classes will also be bound by the rules and conditions in force at the time of showing, applicable to the association and the class in which they are exhibiting. It is deemed by the organising committee that all competitors are conversant with all such rules, conditions and directives. Horses / Ponies which have been bred, leased or produced by the Judge, his/ her immediate family or employer are not eligible for that class. The organising committee reserve the right to amalgamate or split classes and/or alter the running order of classes as it deems fit. The organising committee reserve the right to substitute other Judges for those announced in the schedule for any that may be unavoidably prevented from attending. All entries are accepted on this understanding and no refund of entry fees can be made where a substitute is necessary. Exhibitors must enter the ring wearing the back number allocated for that class. A correctly fitted chinstrap MUST be worn by all competitors whilst mounted. Correctly secured British Standard Skull Caps/Riding Hats nos. EN1384, PAS015 or PAS accredited must be worn, unless competing under the rules of a governing society for a particular class. Any horse/pony which is not under adequate control of a competent rider/handler or which in any way constitutes a danger will be asked to leave the showground. All Stallions/Colts SHOULD be adequately bitted. Stallions may not be handled or ridden by a child under the age of 14 years. Foals must be a minimum of 3 weeks old on the day of the show. The organising committee reserves the right to expel any animal from a ring should it in their opinion be deemed not to be fit or under sufficient control. Anyone found miss-treating any animal may be asked to leave the showground and reported to the appropriate body. Show Canes and Whips must not exceed 75cms (30ins.) in length. There is to be no lunging in the collecting rings. Mountains and Moorland Ponies must be shown in accordance with the appropriate pertaining Breed Society Rules. Exhibitors must provide proof of registration on request. Any Perpetual Trophies must be returned to the organising committee on request and at least two months before the following years summer show, either by hand or by registered post. Any lost trophies are to be paid for at their replacement value. Any Dogs on the showground/box park MUST be kept on a lead and under control at all times. No mucking out of horse-boxes or trailers is to be undertaken anywhere on the site, please take your litter home with you. The use of mobile telephones in the judging rings is prohibited. No Horses or Ponies are to be left unattended tied to trailers/horse-boxes. Any exhibitor not complying with any of the show rules can be disqualified. All equine passports MUST accompany all Horses and Ponies whilst being transported. This Show operates under the NCPA Child and Vulnerable Adults protection policy.
