It will be behind the Civic Center where the horse show is held during the Stock Show. Stock Show Concession Stand 4-H has the concession stand and it will be open Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, and on Saturday, from 8 am to 10 am, close for the BBQ lunch, and then open again from 2 pm to 5 pm. 4-H members please work an hour or two each day and help clean up both days. Remember to bring a dozen breakfast taco on one of the mornings, Friday or Saturday. The concession stand also needs single serve baked goods, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc. BBQ Tickets Every exhibitor is expected to sell five tickets each. Tickets are $6. f you did not get your tickets at the 4-H meeting, contact Lindsey Kunz and get them soon! Money and tickets need to be turned in to the Extension Office by Monday, January 9. Each exhibitor will use their exhibitor numbers to get their BBQ plate at no charge. All exhibitors are expected to help serve the BBQ lunch and help clean up. LIVESTOCK & HORSE JUDGERS Livestock judging is after school on Wednesday with Coach Eades. We have a senior horse judging team, if you are interested in more information about either of the above, call Emily Grant at the Extension Office 563-2442. RABBIT EXHIBITORS KCJLS Rabbit Meat Pen Validation took place on Friday & Saturday, December 17th @ the Extension Office. Stop by and pick up show info and rabbit voodoo for your rabbit meat pens if you didn t get it already. County Show Livestock Clipping Dates Clipping dates will take place at the Ag Shop after school until 6:30 from Jan. 9-12. NEED A PROJECT VISIT? PAGE 4 CLOTHING & TEXTILES PROJECTS The next clothing and textile meeting will be January 21, from 1-4 pm at Slator Hall. If you are interested please bring sewing machine, and sewing kits! See you there! FOOD & NUTRITION PROJECTS At the District 10 Food Show, Will Lewis brought home a third place in the Junior Protein category with his Family Favorite Gumbo dish. The Kinney Kookers: Hallie Kunz, Madeleine Ducharme, and Will Lewis competed and have the honor of being the first Junior team from Kinney County to compete in the Food Challenge at District Fall Roundup in Kerrville. PHOTOGRAPHY Food Challenge practice continues in the capable hands of Amy Lewis for this team to go on and compete at San Angelo and San Antonio. project meets weekly on Tuesdays, after all holidays we will restart on Tuesday January 10 thru contest entry time. District contest will be held on 4-H Connect January 23 through February 1, 2017. We will meet one last time just before the photography competition to finalize our photo picks for entering the contest. The meeting location will be in the computer lab at the high school. The meet times are 3:45-5:15. COMMUNITY SERVICE 4-H ers collected crazy socks to donate to the H.O.P.E. center. The H.O.P.E. center keeps new underwear and socks for children and adults in need in our community! The Extension Of ice collects non-perishable food items year round for the local food bank. Bring your donations at any time. Kinney 4-H T-Shirts Kinney 4-H shirts are here! If you have not already done so, please stop in and pay for your shirt! There will be a limited number of shirts available for purchase. Shirts are $10 each! SHOOTING SPORTS Coaches, parents, and safety meetings will begin after Stock Show. CHANGES IN AGE/GRADE REQUIREMENTS FOR 4-H 4-H Member Categories Senior: Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 Intermediate: Grades 6, 7, and 8 Junior: Grades 3, 4, and 5 ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Do you like to sew, cook, take pictures, give presentations, talk in public, target shoot, pull a bow, study bugs, help out in the community, scrapbook, hike, ish, hunt, swim, work with animals, train dogs, judge livestock, study plants, geocache, or anything special that you d like to share with youth in Kinney County? We need you!! If you are interested in volunteering YOU decide if you want to do it for a few hours, a couple of weeks or months! Call 563-2442 and tell us what you d like to do. We will work to ind a place for you.

Here are some tips in using 4-H CONNECT: If you already have a profile DO NOT create another one! If you are new to 4-H, set up a profile and follow the prompts. Make sure to fill out the Health Form on page 3. If you lost your email and password call your county office they can tell you your e-mail address and reset your password! To be an official 4-H member in Texas 4-H you must have an Active profile in 4-H Connect! An active membership will not be granted until participation fee is paid You cannot register for an event until your profile is ACTIVE.
