Pratten was fined $500 for stabling the racehorse Dazet at a location other than her registered stable premises between Monday 6 July 2015 and Friday 17 July 2015 (AR80F). Jockey Mrs D. Auckram was fined $100 for having a mobile phone in the jockeys room. In assessing penalty stewards appreciated Mrs Auckram has not offended under this rule previously and she volunteered the phone to stewards prior to her gear being inspected (AR160B(3)). RACE 1: Class 2 Handicap 1200m A Long Way Bumped and unbalanced shortly after the start. Raced wide in the middle stages. Beau Brock Raced wide in the middle stages. Big Tomee Checked from heels passing the 1000m. Shifted out abruptly under pressure passing the 200m. Electric Kimbo Began awkwardly. Rounding the home turn was eased when momentarily tightened for room. Ensign Jockey J. Watkins (Electric Kimbo) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, under AR137(a), in that passing the 1000m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Big Tomme which was checked and carried in onto Finno which was checked before permitting his mount to continue shifting in when insufficiently clear of Ensign which was checked for a number of strides when awkwardly placed on his mount heels. J. Watkins license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Monday 18 August 2015 and to expire on Sunday 30 August 2015, in which day he may ride. Finno Overraced in the early stages. Checked from heels passing the 1000m. Overraced from this point until near the 700m. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of the gelding trainer Mr D. Dwane stated that it was the geldings fourth start this preparation and its form suggests that it takes time to obtain full fitness. Mr Dwane added that whilst the gelding has fair wet form he is of the opinion that it appreciated the firmer track conditions today. Our Boy Ben Shifted out and bumped another runner shortly after the start. 1
Winfrey Buffeted between runners shortly after the start. Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn and down the straight. RACE 2: Benchmark 61 Handicap 1900m: Bingo Bobby Pulled between the 1300m and 800m. Laid in down the straight and proved difficult to ride with full vigour. Diamond Eagle Ran wide rounding the first turn and was inclined to overrace for a short distance after. Dubai Gee Eye Overraced approaching the winning post on the first occasion and approaching the 1200m. Glamorgan Babe - Bumped on jumping. Man of Persia - Bumped on jumping. Street Dance Bumped on jumping. Union Blundered on jumping. Would Be a Bonus Overraced rounding the first turn. RACE 3: Class 3 Handicap 1400m: Hilltop Began awkwardly. Keep Talking Approaching the 100m was eased and shifted outwards after improving onto heels. Kentucky Chick Passing the 700m was eased when momentarily tightened for room. Rhaego As apprentice Ms E. Cass was injured stewards permitted apprentice J. Hodge to replace her as the rider of the gelding. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Ran very wide down the straight. Stewards advised apprentice J. Hodge that, in similar circumstances, he is expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts rather than permit them to shift so wide down the straight. RACE 4: Maiden Handicap 1400m: Abseil Raced wide in the early stages. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Atlantean Souls Bounded on jumping. Belbort - Overraced fiercely between the 1200m and 700m. Hung out over the final 600m and was unable to be tested. A post race veterinary examination of the filly revealed it to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer Mrs S. Pepper was advised that the filly is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior 2
to its next race start and before such trial requires a veterinary certificate of fitness passing it fit to compete. Chesil Beach A pre race veterinary examination of the mare, which broke through the barriers and galloped a short distance, passed it fit to start. Hide the Ace A pre race veterinary examination of the gelding passed it fit to race. Began awkwardly. Men Only Pulled between the 1100m and 800m. Bumped passing the 300m. Onemore Twist Declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 3.09pm after the gelding broke through the barriers and galloped a considerable distance. Stewards ordered that all wagers on the gelding be refunded and that all successful wagers placed with bookmakers prior to 3.09pm be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket, 3 cents the win and 5 cents the place for 1 st (Chepstow), 4 cents the place for 2 nd (Grey Glamazon) and 4 cents the place for 3 rd (Men Only). Ponzi Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Bumped passing the 300m. Target Beach Trainer Mr T. Pratt advised that the gelding would be ridden with vigour early to settle forward. Blundered on jumping and settled back. Thai Princess Eased when tightened between runners approaching the 400m. RACE 5: Open Handicap 1400m: Champagne Rock - Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Ran wide rounding the home turn. Curley Mac Checked after improving onto heels near the 800m. Neurum Road Apprentice Ms S. Polo (War Ends) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, under AR137(a)), in that near the 800m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Neurum Road which clipped her mounts heels and blundered. Ms Polo s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Friday 21 August 2015 and to expire on Monday 24 August 2015, on which day she may ride. Unable to be tested when awkwardly placed on heels over the final 50m. Shadow Rein Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance of the mare jockey P. Graham stated his mount settled further back than anticipated however travelled fairly in the early and middle stages. P. Graham added that his mount commenced to lay out passing the 500m and continued to do so down the straight where it failed to let down strongly. P. Graham stated that he was of the opinion that the mare appreciates softer track conditions than those today. A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer Mr T. Walshe was advised that the mare requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior its next race start. 3
Sigmund Trainer Mr S. Lee was fined $100 for the late declaration of B. Looker as the rider of the gelding (LR35). Slow to begin. Jockey B. Looker will be interviewed regarding his whip use prior to the 100m at a date to be fixed. Spatha The explanation tendered by trainer Ms M. Brosnan for the late declaration of C. Small as the rider of the gelding was accepted. War Ends Began awkwardly and unbalanced its rider. Raced wide in the early stages. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. RACE 6: Benchmark 50 Handicap 1000m: Beau Lake Shortly after the start was steadied after it laid in and was awkwardly placed on heels. Shifted in abruptly approaching and passing the 200m. Shifted out abruptly passing the 50m. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey B. Looker stated that from a wide barrier his mount was obliged to settle at the rear of the field. B. Looker added that rounding the home turn and entrance to the straight the leaders were able to sprint and his mount was unable to run them down from the rear of the field with the large weight impost. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Casual Connections Shifted out abruptly under pressure passing the 200m. Harada Tat Tat Began awkwardly. Rounding the first turn was eased when tightened for room. Overraced between the 800m and 500m. Unable to be tested over the concluding stages when racing in restricted room. Kyamba s Destiny Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Moringa s Stroller Steadied when momentarily tightened for room near the 500m. Sweet Vamp Raced wide in the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted down the straight, in particular why from the entrance to the straight until approaching the 100m he remained racing behind Press Secretary where it appeared he was unable to test his mount with full vigour as opposed to shifting inside or outside the heels of that runner into clear running, M. Bennett stated that he tracked Press Secretary around the home turn with the intention of easing outside its heels into clear running down the straight. M. Bennett added that Press Secretary laid out down the straight whilst his mount failed to let down strongly and was inclined to lay in. M. Bennett stated that due to the nature in which both horse let down in the straight he was reluctant to persist in an attempt to shift to the outside of the heels of that runner as he felt it was to his mounts detriment. M. Bennett added that whilst racing behind Press Secretary he was able to place his mount under hands and heels pressure and approaching the 100m when that runner shifted wide enough that a run presented to its inside his mount failed to sprint strongly when he was able to apply full pressure.
