Dear 2017 CAST Families, Welcome to Canton Parks and Recreation CAST production of Alice in Wonderland, JR. Beginning June 26, your talented children will travel down the rabbit hole into the very cool world of Wonderland. In this very edgy production, actors will work on developing acting skills, singing, and dancing. Some will have the opportunity to learn sewing skills, while others will be involved in set construction and back drop design. These five weeks are my favorite weeks of the year. As the cast grows in their characters they also grow as a show family, forging friendships that last outside of our magical theatre journey. Our days will be filled with fun culminating in what I know will be an amazing production. Welcome back to all the actors returning for another great summer and a huge welcome to our new participants. I can t wait to begin this very creative journey into the Steam Punk design of Our Wonderland!!! The following pages contain information for you and your child to review before rehearsals begin. Please have your child bring in the attached forms on the first day of the program. If you will be out of town on vacation the first week, please mail or drop off the forms to the Canton Park and Recreation office. For those on vacation the first week of camp, an audition will be held on June 7 th at 4:00pm the Parks and Recreation room. Don t hesitate to phone me with any questions. I look forward to working with your children, creating and making a lasting memory for all. Wonderland Wishes, Vickie Culligan Artistic Director, CAST Contact information: Vickie Culligan, 860-416-3529, vculligan@att.net Canton Parks and Recreation, 40 Dyer Ave, Canton, CT 06019 860-693-5808

In the afternoon, children will audition by character readings from the script and be asked to sing a short song. Children should have a song prepared that they are comfortable with. We will also be teaching a song from the show Your child can prep for auditions by visiting www.mti.com Click on Broadway JR.- to Audition Materials- to Select a Show -Click on Alice in Wonderland Jr. Audition for Disney s Alice in Wonderland Jr. can be a challenging experience. Each character has a breakdown, sides, and a small excerpt from the score with which to rehearse your audition. Day 3 Cast List will be posted, Let the Show begin!!! Over the following weeks, performers will work on all elements of putting on the show, including, props, set, costumes, staging, and more.
