Marc Wolfgang and I (Chris) have been trying to set up a meeting with MPS, to have them run our clinics. Hopefully mid-august. Treasurers Report Travel refs have been paid Page 2
BAYS Report Registrar Report U8 and Clinic registrations are still coming in steadily, others are mostly done. Most coaches are CORI'd; the program coordinators are following up with the few who are left. Girls Travel Report Boys Travel Report U11 is full, three teams. U12 is also full, three teams. Generally, placements look good U10 Girls Intramural Report Will be 6 teams. Coaches and assistants going through Cori process now. U10 Boys Intramural Report Six teams of 12 kids, with one the waiting list U8 Girls Intramural Report U8 Boys Intramural Report Nothing earthshaking to report for U8B besides the recruiting process for this fall. I have around 10-11 head coaches thus far... Clinic Report Coaching Education Report Paul - I am still planning on putting together the coaching clinic and have the agenda all set. Just need to pick a date for fall. Will be focused on travel teams for u10 and above. Intramural U10 coaches welcome to attend. Will discuss more when I am back. Page 3
Marc - Coach's education behind schedule. There was a lack of interest in spring and struggled to fill up training slots. Were also some issues with NEFC not following our plan/instructions. Maybe a couple of coaches clinics would be better approach? Referee Report (Intramural, Travel) Grade 9 ref training has been canceled. At age 14 kids can take Grade 8 training Intramurals refs are 75% 12-13 year old kids All agree losing Grade 9 is a problem Ideally we could start our own training program or tie in with BAYS or other group to offer training. Issues for in house training are course development, course trainers, and child labor laws. Jeff has been researching training for the new refs Jeff and John will work on this issue and bring a proposal to the board Fall games will not be impacted, but in the future we could be short refs Field Coordinator Report August 25 th is the start date Tracy can start taking practice requests now, but will send out official request shortly Marshall St. Report We are trying to lock in NEFC for a 3 year deal. Finalizing paperwork. Marshall parking lot was re-graded, and the new bumpers have been installed. We now have a storage container adjacent to the Turf, so that we can load it up with corner flags, etc., at the end of the season. We are renting a larger container Bill has the update on that. We did our turf clean up two weeks ago, to de-compact the rubber. Things look pretty good. Stars Tournament Labor Day Weekend, will be Saturday and Sunday. NEFC practice starts 8/19. Field Equipment Report All 2014 equipment has been delivered and is in stock. New shelving has been installed in marshal container. All equipment has been moved from highland to Marshall. I will begin net maintenance in the next week or so. I want to check on Weston nets so hopefully town can unlock those soon. Site may be down for a day or two during switch but Rob set up second site so people would be directed to this site while the new site is down.
