STATE 4-H YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES 4-H ers for 4-H Campaign 4-H ers investing in 4-H ers. This is the essence of the 4-H ers for 4-H Campaign, sponsored each year by the State 4-H Council. The campaign raises money to fund projects that benefit 4-H members throughout the state. This year marks the 31st anniversary of the Iowa 4-H ers for 4-H Campaign. Last year, we exceeded our goal and raised over $30,000. We want to continue that growth and have set our goal for this year at $31,000.00 with a suggested $3.00 per member donation. We also want every county in Iowa to participate! YOU can help grow 4-H in Iowa! The 4-H ers for 4-H Campaign helps to ensure that 4-H remains available and affordable for young people like us from across the state. 4-H ers investments contribute to: Providing financial assistance to help 4-H ers attend 4-H camps or conferences. Helping members from low-income families pay part of their annual 4-H program fee. Funding speakers and entertainment at the State 4-H Youth Conference, keeping registration fees affordable for everyone. Improving the Iowa 4-H Center with new equipment to enhance campers experiences. This year we re hoping to help purchase new bunk bed sets for Elm Lodge. We need your help to continue to support Iowa 4-H members with substantial funding! By supporting the Iowa 4-H ers for 4-H Campaign you are giving back to the organization that has given so much to you. With your help, we can continue to make 4-H a great experience for other members for many years to come! SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS Iowa s Center for Agricultural Safety and Health Grants Iowa s Center for Agricultural Safety and Health is now accepting applications for 2017 Agricultural Youth Grants! These small grants of $500 are available to any youth group in Iowa interested in conducting a project related to agricultural safety and health. We have awarded grants to 82 youth organizations in Iowa totaling over $130,000 since 1998. Applications will be reviewed by members of the I-CASH advisory board. Criteria for selection will be based on objectives and use of funds. One project will be selected for the Outstanding Youth Grant Award which will be presented at the 2017 MRASH conference in mid-november. Funding will be available for travel and expenses to attend the meeting. A cash award will also be given to the top project. Applications are due February 15, 2017.
