He undertook to provide a veterinary clearance prior to Final Frontier racing again. RACE 2: From The Track Maiden Plate 1400m Another Sonette stable representative Mr P Burns was reminded of his obligation to notify changes in tactics no less than 30 minutes prior to the race. Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously without cover outside the lead throughout the early and middle stages. A postrace veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 3: Club Lemon Tree 3YO Maiden Plate 1200m Silk Topper a veterinary examination of the gelding, which became fractious after being loaded into the barrier, deemed it suitable to race. Slow to begin. Eskhara slow to begin. When questioned, rider R Thompson explained that, after being tardy at the start, his mount failed to travel at any stage and, whilst in his opinion it will derive benefit from today s race, it was disappointing when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. If By Chance pulled hard in the early stages and had to be steadied and shifted away from the heels of Sun And Heir rounding the turn near the 1000m. Rider G Buckley was cautioned under AR137A(4)(b) for raising his whip arm above shoulder height. Marfaz eased and shifted out when improving onto the heels of the winner Annie Saturday over the concluding stages. Annie Saturday rider S Lisnyy was fined $400 under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip on nine occasions prior to the 100m (four more than permitted) and was reprimanded under AR137A(5)(a)(i) for using the whip on three consecutive occasions. RACE 5: Nelson Bay Bowlo 2YO Maiden Plate 900m Starismo slow to begin. Bare All slow to begin and then was crowded shortly after. Raced greenly in the early stages. Hung out rounding the home turn and then was hampered and carried wider passing the 200m. Luckier Than El began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had injured its off-fore sesamoid and was 4/5 lame. Trainer Mr
3 D Adkins reported Luckier Than El will be retired. The filly was treated on course by the Club's Veterinary Officer. Witherspoon began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Lonely Heart shifted in approaching the home turn when racing greenly and had to be steadied. Then hung in under pressure in the home straight. Little Archie crowded and raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 200m. Rothman when placed under pressure in the home straight, raced greenly and hung in. Stratacheva hampered and carried in slightly near the 150m. Sassy Charlie a post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be 1/5 lame in the offhind leg. Stable representative Mr N Perry was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Sassy Charlie racing again. RACE 6: Salamander Bay Recycling Class 2 Handicap 1400m Kravchenko missed the start (2L). Spring Creek Star pulled hard in the early stages, would not settle and had to be continually steadied. Then raced in restricted room when attempting to improve inside the 400m. La Pont raced wide and without cover. Gauguin for a short distance approaching the 200m was held up and then had to be shifted wider to go forward. RACE 7: Le Mottee Group Port Stephens Cup Benchmark 71 Handicap 1600m Nadacheva a post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stable representative Ms L Scorse reported the gelding will now be spelled. Jarrett had to be steadied passing the 1300m when crowded by Latitude (App. R Hunt), which shifted in when not quite clear. App. Hunt was reprimanded under AR137(a). Lady Elizabeth had to be checked passing the 1300m when overracing after being momentarily crowded by Salesman (App. Q Yong), which shifted in momentarily when not clear. In the presence of Racing NSW Apprentice Mentor Mr P Webster, App. Yong was reprimanded. Salesman App. Q Yong was fined $200 under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip on nine occasions prior to the 100m (four more than permitted). RACE 8: Palmer Family Benchmark 69 Handicap 1200m What Could Be began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Then raced wide and without cover from the 800m.
4 Giddyup crowded at the start. Then raced in restricted room for some distance in the home straight and had to be shifted to the outside near the 150m to continue to go forward. Oakfield Rickie pulled hard in the early stages and would not settle. Not Surprising raced fiercely in the early stages. Bearing in mind the totality of whip use, no action was taken.
