Course Offerings at: Graydon Pool, 259 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood Adult Swim Instruction This course is for any adult or teenager in 10 th grade or older who wants to learn to swim and might be timid. This course is designed with a small instructor to participant ratio. Adult Aqua Fitness This course is for adults who know how to swim, but would like to build up stamina and ability to swim greater distances with ease. Conducted in the lap lanes, the course is individualized to work with different ability levels. Adult Water Aerobics This is a fun group class for those novice swimmers who want to work out with minimal exertion in the water with an instructor. Introduction to Diving This course is only for those who have passed their Deep Water Test. Participants will learn to do basic dives in the tuck, pike, straight, and free position off of the diving board from a qualified diving coach. Adaptive Aquatics Instructional Lessons for Special Needs Children This is a small instructor to participant class for special needs children who would like to learn basic swimming and water skills, and safety, and rules and regulations. Youth Level Instruction (Grades 7 9) This is a small instructor to participant class for those in grades 7, 8, and 9 who would like to be stronger, safer swimmers or who have not passed their Deep Water Test. It allows swimmers to learn within their peer group. Parent & Toddler Parents join their children in the water for this class. Parents and children are instructed by a pair of instructors to learn basic swimming skills and water safety rules for children 1 4 years of age. Youth Levels 1 6 Instruction (Grades K 6) This is a progressive series of classes building upon skills at each lesson level. Children in grades K 6 are eligible to participate. Skills focus on water exploration, stroke mechanics and coordination, and safety. Level 4 is designed to prepare potential candidates to pass the Deep Water Test. Competitive Swim Team (11 and older)/ Competitive Swim Team (8 10 year olds) This is a competitive program only for those who have passed the Deep Water Test. Competitors learn refined stroke mechanics, racing techniques, and build endurance. Swimmers compete in meets against other local teams. Swim Team Readiness (6 10 year olds) This is a combination program for those children who would like to be part of the swim team, but have not passed the deep water test and need further instructional swim to build up their endurance, comfort, and skills in the water. Swimmers have opportunities to participate in special meets against local teams.
