Welcome competitors to the 2012 CPCA National Championships! On August 2, 3 & 4, 2012, the North Western Ontario Police Pistol Combat Association in conjunction with CPCA will host the 2012 National Championships. This event will be held at the Barclay Range located at 74 Barclay Hall Road, Dryden, Ontario. This is an outdoor range facing north and is measured in yards. The range has stationary targets and has ten shooting positions. This will be a CPCA Registered Match and will include 1500 PPC Revolver, 1500 PPC S/A, 1500 Duty Match, Distinguished Revolver, Distinguished S/A and Snub Nose. Awards and dinner will be at the Sunset Room of the Best Western Motor Inn, 349 Government Street, Dryden, Ontario. Lunch and beverages will be supplied at the range. Match Schedule This tournament will be open to the first sixty pre-registered shooters. The match schedule will be the same on all three days of competition. Relay starts will be on first come, first serve basis. Match Conditions Eligibility The match is open to all classes of CPCA membership. All competitors must hold a valid 2012 CPCA membership and must present their current membership card at registration. CPCA memberships will be available at the registration desk, however new members must have their membership approved by CPCA executive committee prior to competing. Rules Current CPCA rules will be enforced Alcoholic Beverages Absolutely no alcoholic beverages are allowed anywhere on range property. Targets CPCA approved B-27 paper targets will be used for all matches. Firearms and Ammunition Except where otherwise specified, CPCA rules 3.1 to 3.20 will apply. Equipment - General Except where otherwise specified, CPCA rule 3.18 will apply. Each competitor must wear safety glasses and hearing protection while in the immediate vicinity of the firing line. Each competitor must supply their own safety equipment. Scoring All scoring will be done by the competitors after each relay as directed by the Chief Range Officer. Only the Official Referee may use a scoring plug. Challenges Challenges are to be made in accordance with CPCA Rule 16.1. The challenge fee is $3.00 with the decision of the Official Referee being final. Score Cards Each competitor must ensure that their score card is signed by both the scorer and the competitor prior to handing them in. Competitors must ensure that each HIT and TOTAL HIT COUNT have been properly and accurately recorded. Incomplete or unsigned score cards will not be accepted. Ready position CPCA Rule 5.3 will be enforced. Anyone violating this rule will be penalized 10 points for each violation.
Dumping Brass After the Cease Fire command, the competitor shall present the revolver or semi-automatic pistol used to the Line Officer for inspection. The revolver shall be presented with the cylinder open; the pistol shall be presented, in one hand, with the slide locked to the rear and the magazine shall have been removed and held in the other hand. Only on command of the Line Officer shall the competitor empty and close the revolver cylinder or release the pistol slide and holster their firearms. Courses of fire PPC Individual 1500 Match 1: Two stages of 12 rounds, point shoulder, fired double action; Stage 1 from the 7 yard line in 20 seconds and stage 2 from the 15 yard line in 20 seconds. Match 2: One stage of 18 rounds fired double action from the 25 yard line in 90 seconds 6 rounds kneeling - strong hand from the left side of barricade 6 rounds standing left handed from left side of barricade 6 rounds standing right handed from right side of barricade Match 3: One stage of 24 rounds fired single or double action from 50 yard line in 2 min. 45 sec. 6 rounds sitting from right side of the barricade 6 rounds prone from right side of the barricade 6 rounds standing left handed from left side of barricade 6 rounds standing right handed from right side of barricade Match 4: Match 5: 2 stages of 12 rounds, point shoulder, fired double action from the 25 yard line. Each stage is fired in 35 seconds. Stage 1: From the 7 yard line, 12 rounds fired double action in 20 seconds, point shoulder Stage 2: From the 25 yard line, 18 rounds fired double action in 90 seconds 6 rounds kneeling - strong hand from the left side of barricade 6 rounds standing left handed from left side of barricade 6 rounds standing right handed from right side of barricade Stage 3: From the 50 yard line, 24 rounds fired single or double action in 2 minutes and 45 seconds. 6 rounds sitting from right side of the barricade 6 rounds prone from right side of the barricade 6 rounds standing left handed from left side of barricade 6 rounds standing right handed from right side of barricade Stage 4: From the 25 yard line, 6 rounds fired double action in 12 seconds, point shoulder.
Classifications The following CPCA classifications will be used; Grand Master, Distinguished Master, Master, Expert, Sharpshooter and Marksman. All unclassified competitors will compete in the Grand Master class. If a competitor holds more than one PPC classification, the higher will apply. Distinguished Revolver Match: Same course of fire as Match 5 of the Individual Match. CPCA Rule 3.1 applies. Revolver must be factory manufactured with no external modifications other than grips. Trigger must be capable of lifting 2.5 pounds in single action mode; triggers will be weighed. Factory or hand loaded semi-wad cutter or round nose ammunition only; wad cutter ammunition is not allowed. Distinguished Semi Automatic Pistol Match Same course of fire as Match 5 of the Individual Match. CPCA Rule 3.4 applies. Semi- automatic service pistols,.35 caliber or greater. Triggers will be weighed: trigger pull of not less than 3.5 pounds S/A or D/A only. Each competitor is responsible for ensuring their pistol complies with the spirit and intent of the rules. All pistols will be inspected and the decision of the referee will be final. Factory or hand loaded semi wad cutter or round nose ammunition only, wad cutter ammunition is not allowed. Magazines may be loaded with no more than 6 rounds. CPCA Duty Pistol Match Equipment as outlined in CPCA Rule 21.1, 21.2, 21.3, 21.4, and 21.5. CPCA Rules 21.6, 21.7, 21.8, 21.9 and 21.10 apply. CPCA Snub Match Same course of fire as described in match 5a and 5b of the Duty Pistol Match.

Any Competitor winning a Grand Aggregate award will not be eligible for the first place award in that same match.
