WDF WORLD CUP YOUTH 01.00 INTRODUCTION The WDF World Cup Youth shall consist of five (5) events. Boys Singles, Girls Singles, Boys Pairs, Girls Pairs and Mixed Pairs. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the winners, the runners-up and the joint third places in all WDF World Cup Youth events. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the overall winners, runners-up and third placed teams. An additional medal will be awarded to a maximum of two Team managers from each of the three best overall countries. 02.00 RESPONSIBILITY The WDF Executive/WDF Tournament Director will make all decisions and retain complete responsibility for all aspects of the WDF World Cup Youth. This includes the draw, the playing schedule, appointment of event officials and approval of the playing venue. The WDF Executive reserves the right to change any aspect of the WDF World Cup if deemed necessary. Such changes may be made either before or during the event. The WDF Playing Rules for the Sport of Darts shall apply to all matches played at a WDF World Cup. 03.00 PLAYERS Teams entering the WDF World Cup Youth shall consist of two (2) Boys and two (2) Girls. All players shall be selected by the respective Full Member Darts Body for that Country by such method that that Country may determine. All selected Youth players must be under 18 years old on the final day of the event. As the Youth and Senior World Cups are played concurrently, Youth players selected to play in the World Cup Youth event are not permitted to be selected, or take part in the World Cup Senior event in the same year under any circumstances. This also includes substitutions during match-play and replacements due to absenteeism. It is forbidden for any Youth player to drink any form of alcoholic beverage during the entire course of the WDF World Cup Youth. The entire course of the WDF World Cup shall be interpreted as from the morning of the day of the Opening Ceremony until the morning of the day after the farewell Banquet. It is the duty of the officials from the respective countries to ensure that this rule is enforced. Breach of this rule will lead to immediate disqualification of the player or players involved and the suspension of the responsible official or officials. Random Alcohol-Tests will be taken during the event. 04.00 DRAW The draw is the responsibility of, and shall be conducted by the WDF Executive/WDF Tournament Director. 05.00 SEEDING There shall be no seeding in any event in the WDF World Cup Youth. 3

06.00 EVENTS All events in the WDF World Cup Youth shall be played in a Round Robin format with the best teams in each group advancing to the knock-out stages. The draw for all the Round Robins will be completely random but Player/Pairs from the same country will be drawn into opposite sides of the draw. 07.00 MATCH TIE-BREAK RULE All Matches in all events at the WDF World Cup Youth are subject to the Match Tie-break rule if they reach the following position: If the score reaches 3-3 in best of 7 matches If the score reaches 4-4 in best of 9 matches If the score reaches 5-5 in best of 11 matches In all matches where a tie-break leg must be played the following procedures shall be followed. (a) In Singles matches the player who started the match shall throw for the bull first. A Dart which enters the Bull or 25 sector shall be removed before the opposing player takes his/her throw. In the event of equal darts the throw shall be retaken, in the reverse order, until a decision is reached. Any dart which does not remain in the board shall be re-thrown immediately and before the opponent takes his/her throw. (b) In Pairs matches the first player named on the match sheet shall throw for the Bull. The player from the Pair which started the match shall throw first. A Dart which enters the Bull or 25 sector shall be removed before the opposing player takes his/her throw. In the event of equal darts the throw shall be retaken, in the reverse order, until a decision is reached. Any dart which does not remain in the board shall be re-thrown immediately. 08.00 THE ROUND ROBIN GROUP TIE-BREAK RULE If two players, or pairs in a Group have the same number of points the following criteria are used to separate them: 1: Leg difference 2: Result of the match played between the two tied players or pairs. If three teams are tied on the same number of points the teams involved shall adopt the following procedure: 1. Total Leg Difference 2. Results of matches between the tied teams 3. A Group Tie-break shall be played 08.00 THE ROUND ROBIN GROUP TIE-BREAK RULE In the Tie-break each tied team shall select one player to play the tie-break. All players shall play on one board. The throwing order shall be established by a Bull throw. The Bull throw shall determine the throwing order 1: 2: 3 for the first leg. The throwing order for the second leg shall then be 2: 3: 1 and the third leg 3: 1: 2. The fourth and final leg shall be 1: 2: 3. The first player/team to win two (2) legs will be declared the winner of the tie-break. Lots will be drawn to decide the order of the throw for the Bull. I the case of a three-way group tie where two teams shall advance, the tie-break shall be played as stated above. The two remaining teams will then play a single leg, using the same players, to decide which team advances. The start will be decided by a Bull throw. The order of throw for the Bull will be decided by the toss of a coin. 4

09.00 POINTS ALLOCATIONS Pairs Events First Place = 42 points Second place = 30 points Joint 3 rd = 20 points Joint 5 th = 12 points Joint 9 th = 6 points Joint 17 th = 2 points Singles Events First place = 28 points Second place = 21 points Joint 3 rd = 15 points Joint 5 th = 10 points Joint 9 th = 6 points Joint 17 th = 3 points Joint 33 rd = 1 point In all Round Robin Events the Group Winner shall be awarded 5 points. The Runner-up in each group shall receive 3 points. No limitations of bonus points when all groups have the same number of participants. One bonus point will be awarded for winning a match. A maximum of 2 bonus points where there are groups of 3 and 4 participants. A maximum of 3 bonus points will be awarded where the groups consist of 4 and 5 participants. A maximum of 4 bonus points will be awarded where the groups consist of 5 and 6 participants. This will equalize points awarded when group size differs. In all events the points awarded for positions obtained in each event are only awarded to players, pairs or teams that have won at least one match. The country achieving the highest total of points from all three events shall be crowned the WDF World Cup Youth Champions. In the event of a tie for first place those countries shall be declared the Joint WDF World Cup Youth Champions. 10.00 PLAYING FORMAT FOR YOUTH EVENTS The playing format for the Pairs and Singles events will be best of seven (7) legs, each 501 up, with a straight start and a double or bull to finish. Semi-Finals will be best of nine (9) legs and Finals best of eleven (11) legs. All events shall commence with a Round Robin series. Teams shall be divided into groups in which all teams shall play each other once. From these groups the best teams will advance to the knock-out final stages. The number of groups and the number of teams which advance to the knock-out stages will be decided by the WDF Executive when the overall number of entries is known. 5

10.00 PLAYING FORMAT FOR YOUTH EVENTS continued In the case of 8 groups the following formula will be used when transferring players, pairs or teams from the group stage to the knockout bracket. 1: Winner Group 1 9: Winner Group 5 2: Second Group 4 10: Second Group 8 3: Winner Group 2 11: Winner Group 6 4: Second Group 3 12: Second Group 7 5: Winner Group 3 13: Winner Group 7 6: Second Group 2 14: Second Group 6 7: Winner Group 4 15: Winner Group 8 8: Second Group 1 16: Second Group 5 In the case of 4 groups the following formula will be used when transferring players, pairs or teams from the group stage to the knockout bracket. 1: Winner Group 1 5: Winner Group 3 2: Second Group 2 6: Second Group 4 3: Winner Group 2 7: Winner Group 4 4: Second Group 1 8: Second Group 3 These formulae ensures that pairs/players from the same country cannot play each other until an eventual Final. ADDITIONAL RULES AND INFORMATION 11.00 PLAYING ATTIRE 11.01 In WDF World Cup Youth all players representing their country shall wear the approved playing attire or uniform of their country at the opening ceremony, during the tournament itself (at least until eliminated from all events), and at the closing and awards ceremony. 11.02 Team players must be uniformly attired; IE: all team shirts, blouses, dresses, skirts or trousers and footwear shall be in uniform colours and styles for that team. 11.03 Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times during match-play, award presentations, and all official ceremonies relating to the event. They shall be of a colour and style in keeping with the approved playing attire. Flashing devices and luminescent strips are not permitted. 11.04 Trainers and jogging shoes are not permitted. 11.05 Whatever the team uniform, no player shall wear any clothing that bears any advertising material, slogans, or logos relating to a marketable product or concern without the prior permission of the organisers. 11.06 In WDF darts events (WDF World and Area Cups) the Playing Attire of all participating players and teams shall be subject to WDF approval. Any unacceptable Playing Attire must be changed before that player/team can participate in any introductions, match-play, interviews, or presentations. 6

11.00 PLAYING ATTIRE continued 11.07 In WDF darts events (WDF World and Area Cups) any player/team refusing to meet with WDF approval may be refused participation. 11.08 Players are not permitted to wear any article of clothing over their approved Playing Attire during match-play. 11.09 Players are permitted to wear sweatbands on their wrists. 11.10 No headgear shall be worn without the prior permission of the Organisers. Exceptions may be allowed for medical or religious reasons. 11.11 No earphones/headsets shall be worn during match-play at any time without the prior permission of the organisers. EG: exceptions could be allowed for the need to use a hearing aid. 12.00 THROWING ORDER In all events countries shall designate the order of throw on the Team Entry Form prior to a WDF Championship, which shall not be changed after the start of the first event in the championships. The designated Board Official will arrive at the match board in good time before the start of a match with the Match Sheet. The Match Sheet will contain the names of the countries who shall play in the match, the board number and the scheduled starting time of the match. The Match Sheet will also indicate the order of play and the throwing order. The match Sheet will also clearly indicate which Player, or Pair shall start the match. It is the team managers collective responsibility to verify that the printed match result sheets have been correctly produced prior to starting the match in question. The winner of the draw, shall throw first in the first leg, and alternate legs thereafter. If it is discovered that a player has thrown out of order the leg shall be stopped immediately and replayed using the correct throwing order. The player concerned shall receive a warning. If the leg has been completed and a subsequent leg has already started, the result of that leg shall stand. Should the same player, or another player from that /pair/team throw out of order in a subsequent leg of the same match that leg will be forfeited. 13.00 PRACTICE DARTS Each player is entitled to six (6) practice darts on the assigned match board prior to a match. No practice darts may be thrown after the start of a match which is being played on the floor. Practice darts during stage matches are permitted only after players have returned to the stage after a break, and then only after permission has been given by the Stage Referee. 14.00 REPLACEMENTS DUE TO ABSENTEEISM Players who are unable to attend the World Cup may be replaced. Replacements will normally be permitted until the end of the Team managers Meeting prior to the start of the championships. Countries wishing to make replacements must inform the WDF Tournament Director as soon as possible providing the names of the absent player and the name of the substitute. Pairs line-ups may not be changed as a result of a replacement. 7

15.00 SUBSTITUTIONS DURING MATCH-PLAY In the Pairs events a player may be substituted if unable to continue for a bona-fide reason. In such cases one substitute will be permitted. Substitution can only be made before the start of a match and only by an individual who has not already played in the current World Cup Youth. Should the substituted player become fit to resume play at a later stage of the event that player shall be reinstated. All substitutes will be vetted by the WDF before approval is given. 16.00 DISPUTES In the instance of a dispute occurring during match-play the match concerned shall be stopped immediately. Both Team managers shall then accompany the Board Official to the Floor Manager. The floor manager will then make a ruling. All players shall remain at the match-board. If the Floor Manager is unable to make a ruling the dispute will be referred to the WDF Tournament Director. In the instance of an appeal against a ruling made by the WDF Tournament Director the appeal shall be heard immediately by the WDF Executive members who are present and available. Any decision made by the available Executive members shall be final and binding. 17.00 TEAM MANAGERS MEETINGS The WDF Tournament Director shall hold a meeting for all team managers at a convenient time prior to the start of the tournament. The WDF Tournament Director will use this meeting to explain procedures and supply the Team Managers with the latest information concerning the Cup and answer any questions which may arise. 18.00 PLAYER ELIGIBILITY Any Youth player who has represented a country at a WDF World Cup Youth event or WDF Area Cup event cannot represent another country until a quarantine period of one calendar year has been served. The quarantine period to start on the day after the final day of a championship. 19.00 COMPLIANCE WITH ANTI-DOPING RULES All players and officials shall comply with the requirements laid down in the WDF Code of Practice on Anti-Doping. In addition, random alcohol testing will take place at all WDF World Youth Cups. 20.00 ADVERTISING 20.01 The Organisers reserve the rights to the use of all advertising materials, slogans, or logos in connection with the promotion and organisation of a WDF tournament. 20.02 The Organisers reserve the right to protect their sponsors' interests with regard to any advertising material, slogans, or logos used by players, teams, or other sponsors. 20.03 Players in a WDF tournament shall not be allowed to wear any clothing that bears any advertising material, slogans, or logos relating to any marketable product, or concern without the prior permission of the Organisers 20.04 International Member Country Organisers are recommended to have 'unmarked' Playing Attire available which shall be used on those occasions when advertising rights are likely to be infringed. 20.05 Players in a WDF tournament shall not be allowed to use any playing equipment that bears any advertising material, slogans, or logos relating to any marketable product, or concern without the prior permission of the Organisers. 8

20.00 ADVERTISING continued 20.06 Before a televised match, the Organisers are empowered to request a player to withdraw or remove any advertising material, slogans, or logos. Any player who refuses to comply with such a request shall forfeit that match. 20.07 In those instances when a player introduces onto stage any advertising materials, slogans, or logos, which contravenes any Clause in WDF Playing Rule No 18.00, or any Television Advertising Rules currently in force at the time of the darts event, then that player, or team shall forfeit that match. 21.00 ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BULL THROW When a Bull Throw is taken in any match in the WDF World Cup Youth the following must be observed: Darts which land outside of the 25 sector must be left in the board. If a player requests that a dart which is outside the 25 sector be straightened, this is allowed the player must request that the dart be straightened. The marker should place their finger underneath the dart that is to be straightened. They should then take the dart out of the board and replace it in exactly the same place, horizontal and straight. The dart should not be pulled or drawn down as it will not be left in the correct place, i.e. where the point of the dart enters the board. 22.00 REVISION NOTES (1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd Editions) 03.00 PLAYERS has been changed. Random testing for alcohol is now a requirement at all WDF World Youth Cups. 03.00 PLAYERS the section on eligibility has been re-defined. 09.00 POINTS ALLOCATIONS has been revised. Conditions have been added to the awarding of Bonus points for individual matches won in all Round Robin Group matches. Bonus points for Group winners and 2 nd placed teams have also been revised. (This rule adjusted in 2 nd Edition) 10.00 PLAYING FORMAT FOR YOUTH EVENTS has been changed. The formula for Youth Round Robins has been revised to ensure that pairs/players from the same country cannot play each other until an eventual Final. 11.00 PLAYING ATTIRE has been added into the World Cup Youth Rules and removed from the Playing & Tournament Rules. 15.00 SUBSTITUTIONs DURING MATCHPLAY has been changed to permit a substituted player to be re-admitted to an event. 18.00 PLAYER ELIGIBILITY has been added to include a quarantine period. 19.00 COMPLIANCE WITH ANTI-DOPING RULES has been revised to include mandatory random alcohol testing at all WDF World Cup youth events. 20.00 ADVERTISING has been added. Revision 4: 21.00 ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BULL THROW in the interests of clarification. 9
