DISC filtration technology FEATURES Securely stacked discs for micron-precise filtration solids Corrosion resistant spine Innovative depth filter design captures and retains large amounts of solids for longer filtration cycles Short and Efficient backwash process conserves water and energy Easy and simple operation Long-term operation with minimal maintenance The grooves of any two adjacent discs, pressed together, create a series of crossing points which form multiple particle traps. In the filtration process, the force of the spring, along with the differential pressure, firmly compress the discs together providing exceptional filtration efficiency. Filtration occurs as water percolates from the outer diameter to the inner diameter of the filter element. Depending on the micron rating there are multiple crossing points in each track creating distinctive in-depth filtration. 2

FILTRATION PROCESS The colour coded micron sized filtration discs are stacked on the Spin Klin spine and assembled according to predetermined water filtration requirements. During filtration. The discs are compressed by means of a preloaded spring and the differential pressure, forcing the water to pass through the grooved discs surface, and thus trapping the solids. BACKWASH PROCESS Activated by a predefined time command or differential pressure setting the system enters backwash mode. The inlet valve port shuts as the drain port opens. During the backwash process, pressure is released and the spine s piston rises releasing the compression on the discs. Tangential jets of clean water are then forced through the nozzles positioned along the spine. At this stage the discs spin freely, loosening the trapped solids which are then flushed out. DIAGONALLY GROOVED DISC FILTRATION 3

LEAF DISC FILTER Low energy automatic filter (LEAF) Applications Where low pressure is required in backflow. Available in all Spin Klin and Apollo models. Advantages Energy saving The LEAF is the only filter available that starts to backwash from 1.5 Bar Proven filtration filters through the entire depth of the disc ring, not just the surface Non-corrosive, UV protected polypropylene materials resist rust and corrosion from chemicals and weather Factory assembled and tested for a quick and easy water in/water out installation Small footprint saves valuable space Advanced back flushtime optimises the overall application of irrigation water NEW LOW PRESSURE DESIGN ALLOWS FILTER BACKWASH AT ONLY 1.5 Bar Netafim Automatic Spin Klin Filters have been used successfully and reliably for many years. Our advanced disc filtration technology optimises irrigation performance and saves water. With a redesigned filter spine, the Low Energy Automatic Filter (LEAF), can now flush at a lower pressure - 1.5 Bar instead of 2.8 Bar. SAVE MONEY ON ENERGY COSTS A lower flushing pressure reduces energy costs which can result in up to 15% energy savings. SAVE MONEY BY REDUCING PUMP SIZE A lower flushing pressure reduces the need to oversize the pump for adequate flushing and reduces the need for a Pressure Sustaining Valve - saving money. 4

Solids and organic materials are trapped within the media. The clean water passes through the media and flows out via the nozzles. The back flushing process is done by shutting the inlet of the filter and allowing the water to enter from the bottom, lifting the media and releasing the solids that exit the filter through the back flush manifold. This process can be controlled automatically. SERIES f700 sand separators - hydrocyclone Applications Sand separator for well applications. Standard characteristics Filter housing material of construction: Carbon Steel ST37.2 Pre-treatment: sand blasting up to Sa 2.5 grade Two layered coating process consisting of a one primary coating Rich Zinc (60-70µm thickness) and a final protective coating of Phenolic Epoxy (70-80µm thickness) Connections: Victaulic; Male Threaded and Flanged Maximum recommended working pressure: 10 Bar (145 psi) Inlet is tangential to the body Equipped with anti- vacuum valve Conical rubber protection or expendable connection on the joint between hydrocyclone and the sedimentation tank Operation Water enters the hydrocyclone via the tangential inlet which creates a spiral flow along the walls of the filter. The centrifugal force separates the waste and sand particles and pushes them towards the walls of the sand separator. Those particles gravitate downwards into the sedimentation tank, while clean water moves upwards and exits through the top outlet. For the sand separator to operate correctly the head loss must remain between 2-5m. The separation efficiency is not affected by the accumulation of dirt in the sedimentation tank. The sedimentation tank is drained by opening a flush valve for a few seconds manually or automatically by timer. During the flushing cycle the flushing valve opens pressure is released from the hydraulic piston and debris laden water is discharged through the flushing valve. Pressure in the hydraulic motor chamber and the dirt collector is significantly lowered causing the dirt collector nozzles move along and rotate thus cleaning the whole internal screen surface. The flushing cycle takes 5 to 13 seconds. The flushing valve closes at the end of the cycle pressure is reapplied to the piston, moving the nozzles back to their rest position and the filter is cleaned. series f2000 manual filters applications To protect pumps and water meters from suspended solids in water. standard characteristics Filter element: Single perforated screen Stainless Steel AISI 316 Available filtration grade: 3000 micron and up Filter housing construction material: Carbon Steel ST37.2 Pre-treatment: sand blasting up to Sa 2.5 grade Two layered coating process consisting of a one primary coating Rich Zinc (60-70µm thickness) and a final protective coating of Phenolic Epoxy (70-80µm thickness) Connections: Victaulic; Threaded socket and Flange Maximum recommended working pressure: up to 10 Bar (145 psi) operation The filters have been designed and built in accordance with the principle of water flow through the screen openings while solid particles are collected at the lower section of the filter. These particles can be easily removed by drainage through a relatively large drain valve or by opening the cover and washing the screen manually. series f500 fertilising tank Applications Fertiliser tanks for use in agricultural applications. Standard characteristics Body of strainer and connections: Carbon Steel ST37.2 Pre-treatment: sand blasting up to Sa 2.5 grade Available filtration: 50-3000 micron Two layered coating process consisting of a one primary coating Rich Zinc (60-70µm thickness) and a final protective coating of Phenolic Epoxy (70-80µm thickness) Connections: quick connection Available tank volumes: 20, 30, 60, 90, 120, 220 litres Installation: horizontal or vertical Maximum operating working pressure: up to 8 Bar (116 psi) Fertiliser tanks require no external energy source to function, other than a pressure differential across the inlet and outlet. The oversized pouring mouth reduces the chance of wasted fertilizer during tank filling Flexible and durable rubber joint, highly resistant to corrosion from chemicals used in agriculture Operation The fertiliser tanks are simple to use and maintain. A pressure differential between the inlet and outlet connections, creates flow into the tank, displacing chemical from the tank via the outlet and into the mains.
