For those that are unaware this is our 100th Tournament. We plan to have a fantastic week of Golf and Celebrations. We, the Tournament Committee, ask for your help and support in this. Along with the golf, we are organising a Formal function at the club Saturday evening 22nd July. Music will be supplied by Justin Rebecchi. A courtesy bus will be running from Sale at a cost of $10 pp. Please refer to the Newsletter attachments for our Invitation to Members and the Centenary Tournament Entry Form. Jenny Cashman is organising a parade of golf fashions over the years. This will be held after golf Tuesday and maybe again on the Saturday night. Jenny is looking for someone to assist in organising this. If this is you or you have any old golf attire that she could use, please let her know. A major raffle will be run, we ask that all Members make the effort to sell a book of tickets. These will be available from Sam McDonald in a couple of weeks time. We ask that all members make the effort to play in as many events as possible and please ask a visitor to be your partner in the 4ball, ambrose and mixed events.

For any queries, offers of help or donations contact any of the Tournament Committee: Tournament Secretary - Pam Schaper Tournament Committee - Greg Angel Matt Portelli Nola Macready Sandra Kirkpatrick Mel Schaper Tracey Potter Jo Ballinger Bruce Carter Sam McDonald Andrew Taylor Jenny Cashman Wanted - New Members Members who sign up a New Member to a Full, Veteran or Social Membership will receive a $100 Club voucher One per Member per year. The General committee passed this 21 st March 2017 President Greg Presidents Report May 2017 With the AGM only a few weeks away we need to be recruiting a few new members to come on to the general committee. We need all position filled as it gives us better input to all discussions. I have not had much success getting someone to be President. I feel I have given as much as I can. I will stand as President only if someone will stand as Vic-President and take over next year.

We are also in need of a Captain and Vic-Captain as these are very important positions. Kevin Maxfield has done a great job in Captaincy and we all should thank him. The AGM is now on the 18 th June, 2017. The General committee has passed the motion to buy a Toro Greens Mower. We must have equipment that is reliable and in working condition most of the time. The Couch Trial program was also passed with the 5 th, 17 th & 18 th fairways being done as well as a number of Tee blocks. The General committee is representing you and we are continuing to improve our course. We feel the trial will be successful and the future committees will continue this program through. We have had to move our 100 th tournament date to 18 th to 23 rd July. Please pass this date on to any clubs you visit and golfers you talk to. This is our Hundredth year so we need as many Members playing as well as visitors. There will be entertainment on Saturday night celebrating our hundred years, it will be a special event. Please if you can help in any way, give Pam a call as there will be a lot more to do this time round. Well done to all our pennant player who represented the club. Good luck in the finals, hope we come home with a few flags. Thanks President Greg Good Golfing. Captains Desk This weekend (Sunday 4 th June) we have our division two and three pennant teams playing in the finals at South Pines, we all wish them well. I am not standing for re-election as Club Captain for next season due to my ill health. Thank you to all those that have supported me during my Captaincy. Regards, Kevin Maxfield Club Captain

From the Greens The Greens Committee along with the General Committee are excited that a New Greens mower finally is on its way. Sorry to say the request for a heated seat by one of our fantastic volunteers was not accommodated, however I am sure Aaron, Jockey and the volunteers will appreciate the new equipment. Our working bees are ticking along nicely, often a new face appears, our regular lady volunteers are having a break as they are playing pennant. Monday Mornings from 9am, everyone is welcome to come along, there is always plenty to do around the course and your help is always appreciated. We hope that you are enjoying playing out of the well-maintained bunkers, even the practise bunker is up to standard. Our greens are rolling fast, something that we all have to adjust too. We ask that everyone take the time to fill divots on tees as well as fairways, rake bunkers and repair your pitch marks. Regards, Greens Committee Pro Shop News & Events A big congratulations to those Men s and Ladies Pennant Teams that have made the finals this year. I hope to see a few new pennant flags on display in the clubhouse soon. I am in the process of completing a blind & disabled coaching accreditation through the PGA. Upon completion, this will allow me to provide teaching services on a local basis to those that have physical and mental impairments. I am planning on completing this course during June and will work closely with Christian Hamilton from the PGA who has been instrumental in developing this fantastic initiative. Funding for those with disabilities through the National Disability Scheme (NDIS) is already available in Shires closer to Melbourne. Both the Wellington and East Gippsland Shires will have access to this funding from the 1 st January 2019. If you have a relative or loved one that may be interested in taking up the sport please come and have a chat with me. You can also visit the NDIS website for more information. https://www.ndis.gov.au/
