ITINERARY DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG You ll experience your first taste of what s to come on this 5-star tour the moment you step off the plane at Johannesburg International Airport. After lunch at the lodge, a second game drive will take place late afternoon. Take the time to relax and explore all the activities Sun City has to offer. The evening is at leisure to enjoy one of the numerous restaurants on offer at Sun City. Hotel: Sun City Cascades Hotel (B) DAY 5: SUN CITY Golf today is at Lost City Golf Course. This impressive 18-hole, par 72 course covers more than 100 hectares. The most famous feature is the water hazard on the 13th with its Nile crocodiles ready to capture any wayward tee-shots. Your round includes lunch at the course s quaint, African-style halfway house and a well-deserved draught beer on completion of your round. With hundreds of activities on offer, you ll be spoilt for choice. Non-golfers will be taken on an exciting Rhino Walk where they will be tracking and learning about this fascinating animal. The evening is at leisure. Hotel: Sun City Cascades Hotel (B,L) DAY 6: SUN CITY Today you are in for a real golfing treat when you tee off at the Gary Player Country Course. It has welcomed all the major names including Els, Woods, and Nicklaus. This walking only course is a test of golf for players of all abilities. Your experienced caddy will assist you around this wonderful golf course and keep a look out for warthogs, baboons and antelopes that are plentiful on the course. Lunch is included for the golfers. ITINERARY DAY 7: FANCOURT - GARDEN ROUTE This morning we bid farewell to Sun City as we depart from Johannesburg airport for the next exciting chapter of this tour. After touchdown in George, we make our way along The Garden Route; a mix of modern golf courses, ancient forests, secluded communities, mountain hideaways and wind-swept beaches. The trail stretches along 400km mountain ranges and natural forests with panoramic views of beaches bound by the Indian Ocean. Once we arrive at our destination, the Fancourt Golf Resort, you ll feel immediately at ease. There, you ll be smitten with the view, be able to relax in the Roman bath and just wind down. With an abundance of decadent restaurants, you ll enjoy spending your evening exploring the options. After a short ferry ride, you will be taken on a guided tour of the privately owned reserve and bask in its sunshine and spectacular coastal views. At sunset, we cruise the lagoon to experience the Knysna Heads. These two impressive and grand sandstone cliffs stand starkly at the entrance of the Knysna Lagoon. Hotel: Fancourt Golf Resort (B) DAY 10: FANCOURT - GARDEN ROUTE Once an old airport and runway, the Links Golf Course has transformed this barren landscape and is now the golfing hallmark of the Fancourt estate. South Africa s #1 golf course has played host to some of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, including the Presidents Cup as well as South African Opens. Marvel at how this Gary Player masterpiece was built. For the non-golfers, a wine tasting and cellar tour at Herold s Wines has been booked to enjoy some wonderful South African wine! Then, it s on to the Arabella Hotel and Spa - one of the country s most luxurious golf estates. Hotel: Arabella Hotel and Spa (B) DAY 12: OVERBERG - WESTERN CAPE After breakfast, you set off to play a round on the Arabella Golf Course. Consistently ranked within the top 10 in South Africa, the course is framed by the Kogelberg mountain range and intertwined with the Bot River Lagoon. The 8th hole has been described as the most beautiful par 5 in South Africa and the 18th is rated among the finest finishing holes in the country. Because you really can t say you ve visited Cape Town until you ve stood atop of this magnificent natural wonder we will jump aboard the revolving Cable Car and have you at the top in a matter of minutes. Here you can take in the spectacular beauty of Cape Town. Tonight we dine at the Gold Restaurant where we ll feast on local African cuisine this restaurant makes for a truly memorable experience as the entire place comes to life when the waiters begin to sing. Hotel: Table Bay Hotel (B, D) DAY 14: CAPE TOWN Today s round is at Clovelly Country Club. Nestled in the pristine and tranquil Silvermine Valley, this is one of the finest golf courses in South Africa. After your round, we will set off for a half-day winelands tour to experience the beauty of the Cape Winelands as well as sample the exquisite wines that the country has to offer. We visit the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek wine regions and the Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek and Ernie Els wine farm in Stellenbosch. Hotel: Table Bay Hotel (B) DAY 15: CAPE TOWN We take a break from golf to take a scenic drive down to the stunning Cape Point, part of the Table Mountain National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This drive will take you to some of the most spectacular scenery in South Africa, taking in the Chapman s Peak coastal road, Hout Bay and its thriving fishing village, and the African Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach. Looking out over the shining sea from the Cape Point Lighthouse truly makes you feel like you are standing at the edge of the world. As we head back towards Cape Town along the False Bay coastal road, we will travel through Fish Hoek (Vishoek in Afrikaans), a little town with a long history. The evening is yours to explore the beauty that Cape Town and its waterfront have to offer. Hotel: Table Bay Hotel (B) DAY 16: CAPE TOWN After breakfast we depart for a round of golf at the Royal Cape Golf Club. With a magnificent view of Table Mountain, Royal Cape hosts of the Lion of Africa Cape Town Open, and has played host to the South African Open many times. After your round, you are off to take a historical trip to the world renowned Robben Island. Originally used as a prison, this UNESCO World Heritage Site acts as a memorial to those who were incarcerated here - the most famous being Nelson Mandela. This tour to the island is sure to be soul stirring as it s so steeped in history. This evening we will have our final dinner together. We toast our champions, reminisce on all the fun and adventure and celebrate new-found friendships.
