2018 Duluth s Sidewalk Days Festival - Downtown Duluth July 11-12-13 The Sidewalk Days Festival is here! Downtown Duluth s biggest shopping festival of the year starts today. Grab the sunscreen and come on Downtown. Local retailers have been bringing their merchandise into the street and the summer sunshine for decades to mark this tradition. Superior Street will be bustling with great deals, festival foods, live music, activities for the kids, and entertainment for everyone. Also, be sure to make your way up to 1 st Street and to the shops in Canal Park and Fitger s where additional unique Sidewalk Days deals are awaiting you. Highlights of the festival will include the Kolar Chevrolet Buick GMC Classic Car Show, the Sidewalk Shuffle 5K race, the Zoomobile, a Farmer s Market and Silent Disco! Plenty of free activities every day, Come on down! Wednesday July 11 th Downtown Duluth s largest summer shopping celebration begins today at 9am. Visitors will find our downtown merchants along with a multitude of festival vendors out on the sidewalks and filling Superior Street. Children s Museum: The Children s Museum will host Engineering and Bubble activities today from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Located on Superior Street between Lake Avenue and 1 st Avenue West, it's fun and learning for the whole family! Book Give Away: The Friends of the Duluth Public Library will be giving away books to children including a bookplate sticker during the entire run of the Festival. The Duluth Public Library is proud to offer Early Childhood reading programs, the Kaleidoscope programs, and Storytime in addition to internet access via the library s computers. The Friends of the Duluth Public Library s mission is to highlight how our library is serving the Duluth community. There will be free books for adults too!
The Downtown Farmers Market 9AM 3PM Sidewalk Days visitors will have the opportunity to get a taste of the Downtown Farmers Market on this first day of the Festival too. Our market vendors will be on Superior Street between Lake Avenue and 1 St Avenue W from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Meet and get to know our growers and take advantage of this healthy and bountiful opportunity to eat fresh and local. Inflatable Kid s Obstacle course: For even more children s entertainment, a large inflatable will provide hours of fun for the little ones in front of Mn Power. Ignite Studio Aerial Silk Demonstration in front of Ignite studio in the 2oo West Block of Superior Street at 9:00am this morning with a Q & A to follow with a certified Ignite Studio instructor. Celebrate Sidewalk Days with FREE class from Ignite Studio on Friday too, see Friday July 13 th below Sidewalk Shuffle 5K - 12:10pm Join the Duluth YMCA and the Greater Downtown Council today to kick off the Downtown Sidewalk Sale Days with the 11th annual Sidewalk Shuffle 5K walk and run to raise money for scholarships. The course will start and end at the Endion Station located next to Canal Park Lodge and will follow along the Lakewalk out past Leif Erikson Park and back. You haven t heard it but have you heard about it? Silent Disco! Calling all movers & shakers- From 11:30am -1:00pm in the 200 West Superior Street block Dancing and entertainment like you ve never experienced. Kolar Chevrolet Buick GMC Classic Car Show 5-8PM Join fellow classic car enthusiasts tonight for the Kolar Chevrolet Buick GMC Classic Car Show. Six blocks of live bands and hundreds of classic automobiles lining Superior Street from 3 rd Avenue East to 3 rd Avenue West. Bands scheduled to appear are Aftershock, the MJM Band, Lake City Smokin Section, the Legendary Hell Puppies, Silver Streak and DSGW Ugly Sweater! Thursday July 12 th Come on back, there is even more food and fun!
