Administrative arrangements for the Ministerial Conference on maritime security VENUE OF MEETINGS The following meetings will take place from 26 to 30 April 2018 at the Intercontinental Resort, Balaclava Fort, Mauritius. 26-27 April 2018 Senior officials meeting 28-29 April 2018 Ministerial Conference on Maritime Security 30 April 2018 Meeting of the Friends of the Chair of the Contact Group on Piracy off the Coast of Somalia PROGRAMME The programme of the senior officials and Ministerial conference is at Annex I. REGISTRATION AND ACCREDITATION All delegates to the Ministerial conference and preceding meetings will require prior registration and accreditation. Countries/Organisations are urged to submit the composition of their delegations and their flight details as per Annex II to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade (mofarc@intnet.mu) of the Republic of Mauritius by 16 April 2018. Registration form to be filled in by the delegates is at Annex III. NB: All Delegates will be issued with identification badges. Access to the meeting rooms will strictly be on identification. IMMIGRATION FORMALITIES All delegates should be in possession of a valid national passport (valid for at least six months before expiry date). PROTOCOL ARRANGEMENTS Protocol arrangements will be extended to Ministers and Head of Organisations on arrival and departure. Arrangements have been made for the welcome and seeing off of Ministers and Head of Organisations in the VIP Lounge at the airport. Other delegates would be required to proceed through the normal arrival/departure channel. TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS A chauffeur-driven car will be put at the service of Ministers and Head of Organisations for the duration of their stay in Mauritius. For the other delegates, the Government of the Republic of Mauritius will provide transfers from the airport to hotel upon their arrival and from hotel to airport for their departure. Flight details and accommodation details need to be submitted to mofarc@intnet.mu at latest by 16 April 2018 to enable the logistics arrangements. No refund will be made to delegates making their own private personal transport arrangements. ACCOMMODATION The Government of the Republic of Mauritius is providing courtesy accommodation (non-transferable) only to Heads of Delegation, at Ministerial level for a maximum of 3 nights at the Intercontinental Resort Mauritius. Hospitality will be on a bed and breakfast basis. All other incidental costs will be at the expense of the delegation. Other delegates are required to make their own booking arrangements. Booking is to be made directly with the hotel. CONFERENCE WORKING LANGUAGE The working language for the conference is English. Translation facilities will be provided in French. RECEPTION A reception in honour of the delegates will be hosted by the Honourable Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius at the Intercontinental Resort Mauritius on 28 April 2018. GENERAL INFORMATION WEATHER AND CLIMATE The summer months extend from November to April and winter from June to September. October and May are transition periods. Coastal temperatures range between 25 o C and 33 o C in summer and between 18 o C and 24 o C in winter. BANKING AND CURRENCY The local currency is the Mauritian rupee. COMMUNICATION The international dialing code for Mauritius is +230. Mobile telephone connection in Mauritius is excellent with good roaming connectivity from most service providers. Telephone cards and SIM cards can be purchased from nearby outlets. Presentation of passport is compulsory for registration of SIM cards.
