Learn to Cross country ski JANUARY highlights holiday valley midweek Seven springs red-eye 2012 Happy Hours 2011 Year in review Hey!..Some Grinch is stealing our Christmas Snow. When you plan skiing events you expect there to be snow piles and piles of fluffy white stuff. I may have to get the lawnmower out again. My grass is still growing! Some of my Spring flowers are starting to push up and look around. I m sure I saw an ad for a TV special entitled, Frosty the Slushball!!! Are you kidding!?! Bumpity, bump, bump, bumpity, bump, bump, look at Frosty melt. Humbug! We need Hell to freeze over! We need Scrooge to be visited by ghosts!! We need the Grinch s heart to grow three sizes!!! We need a magic Christmas wind to breathe a little life back into Frosty and bring about a three and a half foot dump for Snow Trails! Our January meeting is in the Alpine room at Snow Trails on Friday January 6th, from 6 to 9 pm. Some of you may ski the day... some of you may ski the evening some of you may stay the night in your cozy motel room. Hopefully all of you will show up to buy a few more tickets before the Medium Raffle Drawing occurs about midway through the meeting. The more you buy, the better your chances! Remember a part of the proceeds go to TAASC. Come and have a good time with your ski friends. So bring your significant other and be of good cheer. Our first one will take place at Buckeye Winery in Newark on Friday, January 20th and is a fund-raiser for TAASC. Buckeye Winery will donate 10% of all our orders to TAASC. If you want to give a separate donation, we will accept it and combine it with our donation from the Medium Raffle. So come out and show our club s support for this great charity that is truly in a bailiwick! The second Happy Hour includes a date change. It will be held on Friday, February 3rd at Snow Trails to coincide with the TAASC Ski-A-Thon weekend. Come up on Friday afternoon, ski, and then hang out! Plus, snow tubing (total sobriety is unnecessary for this!!) is open until midnight. Make a weekend of it by staying at a hotel nearby & skiing on Saturday!
