Hierarchy of FEI competitions About FEI Located in Lausanne (SUI), the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), is the world governing body of all international competitions and events in the disciplines of Jumping, Dressage and Para-Dressage, Eventing, Driving and Para-Driving, Endurance, Vaulting and Reining. It establishes the regulations and approves equestrian programmes at Events, Championships, Regional and Continental Games as well as at the Olympic & Paralympic Games. The FEI promotes equestrianism in all its forms and encourages the development of the FEI equestrian disciplines throughout the world, keeping the welfare of the horse at the heart of all its activities. EVERY 4 YEARS EVERY 2 YEARS ANNUALLY Equestrian is one of the only sports where men and women compete on equal terms in true partnership with an animal. Today, there are over 90,000 riders and horses registered for competing at international level, with millions registered nationally with the 134 National Federations affiliated to the FEI. There are over 4,400 international Events annually, including a number of international FEI Championships and global FEI series across the different disciplines. Many of these FEI Events are hosted in the world s most prestigious equestrian locations around the globe, drawing millions of spectators every year, attracting major sponsorships and enjoying global media attention. The FEI produces several broadcast products focussing on its most important Series and Championships as well as equestrian lifestyle-oriented magazine programmes, and is distributing them on global level to interested parties. About IMG Media IMG Media is a division of the global sports, fashion and media company IMG Worldwide and is the world s largest independent producer and distributor of sports programming. Mandated by and in close cooperation with the FEI it ensures global distribution and production of the FEI s major equestrian events and the related FEI Broadcast Products to television audiences worldwide. Longines FEI World Cup Jumping - Western European League The Series The Longines FEI World Cup Jumping 2017/18 will be the 41th edition of the globe s premier international indoor show jumping series. With qualifier legs held around the world and the Final in Paris (FRA), the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping offers fantastic jumping action at the highest level from October 2017 to April 2018. Jumping is the best known FEI discipline and this series is sure to produce some of equestrian sport s most memorable moments in a prestigious atmosphere. The Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final for which approximately 40 riders from 16 leagues around the world, including North and South America, Asia, Middle East and Europe will qualify, is the annual international indoor showdown for the world s best show jumping horses and riders and promises to be a spectacular mix of courage, control and technical ability. FEI World Cup Dressage The Series The popularity of the discipline of Dressage has increased rapidly and significantly in recent years. The sport now regularly attracts huge crowds, enjoys sold out venues and extensive international media coverage The FEI World Cup Dressage 2017/18 is the only worldwide annual series in this truly unique discipline. With qualifying leagues in Australia, North America, Western and Central Europe riders will compete throughout the season for a chance to enter and win the 34th FEI World Cup Finals in international Dressage in Paris (FRA), in April 2018. Judged on both technical and artistic merit, the FEI World Cup Dressage aesthetically combines the pure magic of art, music, sport and the partnership between horse and rider at the highest level and consistently proves a winning formula with fascinated audiences all over the world. FEI World Cup Driving The Series With seven FEI World Cup qualifying legs held in seven different European countries and a thrilling Final, the FEI World Cup Driving offers fantastic and very entertaining indoor driving action at the highest level. Performances are breathtaking and arenas are filled with thousands of enthusiastic fans. To become the series and new world champion, the six best drivers of the season will battle for the FEI World CupTM Driving title, trying to beat the former winner of the previous season Boyd Exell (AUS - 2016/17). Longines FEI Nations Cup Jumping The Series The Longines FEI Nations Cup Jumping series is equestrian s oldest and most prestigious team challenge, with national teams from around the globe competing in the Olympic discipline of Jumping for one of the coveted prizes in this discipline. As its name indicates, this flagship series embraces the idea of horsemanship, chivalry and equestrian knowledge; it aims to unite nations and foster lifelong enthusiasm for the universe of horses. The recently introduced fresh competition format of the Longines FEI Nations Cup Jumping series has encouraged even more countries than ever to compete in the most traditional of all the FEI competition circuit. Since 2013 the annual outdoor series is run in a reviewed and exciting new format, allowing even more nations and countries host competitions and to win the title. The participating teams will acquire points at each qualifying leg according to their placing to qualify for the thrilling Final. Top nations will face each other at selected world class venues across different continents. FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018 The Games: Awarded by the FEI every four years alternating with the Summer Olympic Games, the FEI World Equestrian Games are the true World Championships of Equestrianism. They comprise all seven FEI disciplines: Jumping, Dressage & Para-Dressage, Eventing, Driving & Para-Driving, Endurance, Reining and Vaulting. The Games, which showcase the world s most exceptional athletes, attract more than 500,000 on-site spectators as well as half a billion TV viewers and significant global media coverage. In 2018, the Games will continue their role in harnessing the immense interest in all equestrian sports worldwide. After the success of the 2014 Games, which were held in Caen, Normandy (FRA), the FEI World Equestrian Games will heading to the U.S.A. from 11th to 23rd of September 2018 for their ninth edition and to one of the most scenic and inspiring equestrian areas of the world, Tryon in North Carolina.
