Friday s game will be played at the Hart Center in Worcester, Mass., at 7:05 p.m., as legendary Rene Rancourt will be performing the Canadian and American national anthems. For tickets to the game call 1-844-GOCROSS or visit GoHolyCross.com/Tickets. Quinnipiac won the ECAC regular season championship and fell to North Dakota in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Quinnipiac has made three straight NCAA Tournament appearances and played in the 2013 national championship game falling to Yale, 4-0. The Bobcats lead the alltime series, 21-5-4. The Crusaders return 21 players from last season including five of six starters, while they welcome seven freshmen. Holy Cross returns nine of its top 10 point producers. After the home-and-home series with Quinnipiac, the Crusaders will return to action when they hit the road to play defending national champion Providence on Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. HOME-OPENERS: Holy Cross is 25-19-5 all-time in home openers. The Crusaders are 2-3-0 in home openers over the last five seasons.

HC IN SEASON OPENERS: Holy Cross is 16-30-3 all-time in season openers. The Crusaders have a 1-4-0 record in their last five season-openers. The Crusaders fell at home last season to Merrimack by a 3-2 score on Oct. 10, 2014. OPENING SEASON VERSUS ECAC: This will be the first time that Holy Cross has hosted an ECAC Hockey team in the first game of the season. Holy Cross is 0-6-0 when opening seasons against ECAC opponents, all on the road. This is the second time the Crusaders have started the season versus Quinnipiac as an ECAC member. The Bobcats won the season-opener in Hamden, Conn., by a 5-3 score on Oct. 12, 2011. HC VERSUS THE ECAC: The Crusaders have an all-time record of 24-55-6 against teams currently in the ECACHL (4-4-0 against Brown, 1-1-0 vs. Clarkson, 0-5-0 vs. Colgate, 3-4-1 against Dartmouth, 0-4-0 vs. Princeton, 5-21-4 against Quinnipiac, 3-4-0 vs. Rensselaer, 0-1-0 against St. Lawrence, 7-5-1 vs. Union and 1-6-0 against Yale). The Crusaders went 1-1-0 last season versus the ECAC with a 5-0 victory versus Brown on Nov. 30 and a 3-0 loss to Yale on Dec. 30. The only teams that HC has not played in varsity games that are currently in the ECAC are Cornell and Harvard. The Crusaders defeated No. 15 Yale, 5-4, on Dec. 30, 2012. Yale would eventually go on to win the national championship for the 2012-2013 season. SERIES WITH QUINNIPIAC: These games will be the 31st and 32nd meetings between the two schools with Quinnipiac leading the series, 21-5-4. This will only be the ninth and 10th times that these two former MAAC and Atlantic Hockey rivals meet as nonconference opponents and the eighth and ninth since Quinnipiac entered the ECAC. The other non-conference game was in the first contest of the series on January 2, 1998, when Holy Cross won by a 4-1 score in the Crusader Classic in Worcester. Quinnipiac is 6-0-1 versus the Crusaders as a member of the ECAC. As members of the same conference, MAAC and Atlantic Hockey, Quinnipiac had a 15-4-3 record versus the Crusaders. The Crusaders last victory over Quinnipiac was a 5-2 win on February 12, 2005, at the Fleet Center in the last game between these two teams as conference opponents. The Friday night game will mark the Bobcats fifth visit to the Hart Center as a non-conference opponent.
