STATUS: Overfishing in the Visayan Sea had been apparent Despite the need for 15% effort reduction (fishing boats operating) shown in MSY finding in year 2007, an increase in vessel operation is observed during the 2011 total inventory Results in CFVL/CFVG Moratorium & intensive IEC for FAO 167 as fisheries law enforcement initiatives, Visayan Sea fish stocks could immediately recover if enforcement is properly implemented
