USMC Ret.- Hachidan, Shorinkan Shorin-ryu is headquartered in Flat Rock, NC. He will be the Feature Seminar Presenter at this year s International Karate/Kubodo Championships. Perry Sensei began his martial arts training in 1956 and has had the opportunity to train under Hanshi Tatsuo Shimabuku, Isshin-ryu, Hanshi Eizo Shimabuku, Shobayashi Shorin-ryu, Hanshi Kanei Uechi, Uechi-ryu and Takemyoshi in the Old Okinawan Family System. Over the past 17 years Sensei Perry has run the very successful Little Okinawa summer camp, in Flat Rock, NC. Little Okinawa offers sincere karateka the opportunity to participate in authentic, traditional training in a wonderful facility located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. Kyoshi Perry plans to teach the White Crane Kata, Rokishu and some of its applications. This is a wonderful kata to have that reinforces technique found in all Japanese/ Okinawa style systems. The karateka that participate in this seminar will leave with a real sense of what is important in your personal training to continue your journey in karatedo. Sensei Perry is a personal friend of mine and I look forward to the time and energy we will spend together during his visit to our Federation Championships. Phillip W.
